Description

Skilltree Ascension is a class progression and creature-power mod. The tome contains 80 upgrades divided into four 20-node sections:
Every eighth upgrade grants a named ability. Your chosen class determines the passive bonuses, milestone abilities, and special item rewards you receive.
The mod also adds collectible mob identities, a three-slot Chimera Crown, active Mob Relics, an Alchemy Altar, reincarnated companions, and an Ender Dragon Hoverboard.
| Content | Use |

| Ranger's Windstep Charm | Activate a short burst of speed and night vision |
| Massive Ascendant Sword | Clear a wide 30-block path in front of you |

Use the tome to open the skill tree interface. The screen shows your current class, progress, all four paths, and the next available node.
Every node grants a passive improvement. The passive profile becomes stronger as you move through Foundation, Discipline, Mastery, and Ascension.
| Class | Focus | Passive progression |
|---|---|---|
| Ranger | Speed, awareness, and quiet movement | Speed throughout the path, with Jump Boost from Discipline onward |
| Swordsman | Strength, endurance, and combat | Strength throughout the path, with Resistance from Discipline onward |
| Shapeshifter | Recovery, senses, and adaptation | Regeneration throughout the path, with Night Vision from Discipline onward |
At each eighth node, the tree grants another class ability and displays an ability item or milestone notification.
| Milestone | Ranger | Swordsman | Shapeshifter |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Keen Eyes | Iron Stance | Second Skin |
| 2 | Fleetfoot | Battle Rhythm | Deep Adaptation |
| 3 | Silent Step | Tempered Guard | Predatory Renewal |
| 4 | River Runner | Flameheart | Gills |
| 5 | Predator's Focus | Bulwark | Living Form |
| 6 | Windwalk | Relentless Edge | Rapid Metabolism |
| 7 | Ghost Trail | Last Stand | Tidal Body |
| 8 | Master Tracker | Warrior's Resolve | Morphic Memory |
| 9 | Moonlit Hunt | Unbroken Line | Unfettered Form |
| 10 | Ascendant Ranger | Ascendant Blade | Ascendant Chimera |
The class abilities also provide recurring effects as you progress:
When a living mob dies, it has a chance to drop a Mob Head representing its identity. Normal drop chances include:
The Wither and Ender Dragon each provide a guaranteed boss head the first time that boss is defeated in the world. Each boss head can only be claimed once per world.
The Chimera Crown is the Shapeshifter's signature item and is limited to one per world. It functions as a helmet and can hold up to three different mob heads.
To infuse it:
You can also right-click the crown without sneaking to open the Chimera Head Collection screen. Click an available head in the screen to infuse it directly from your inventory.
Removing an infused head removes its associated relic. Normal infusions are lost when the crown is unequipped. Boss infusions return as boss heads when removed or when the crown is emptied.
Place and use an Alchemy Altar to open its ritual interface. It contains a 3×3 ritual grid and two catalyst slots.
For a basic reincarnation ritual:
Special mappings include:
Invalid or incomplete rituals return their ingredients when the altar is closed.
Use the charm to gain:
The charm has a short cooldown and is available as soon as the Ranger class is selected.
Use the sword to unleash a clearing slash up to 30 blocks ahead. It removes a three-block-high, three-block-wide path and leaves bedrock and End Portal Frames intact.
The sword is locked until the Swordsman reaches the tenth ability milestone.
The crown's passive powers remain active while it is worn. Press C to activate the first head in the crown's infusion order. Each head has its own cooldown and active behavior.
The crown also produces visual particles matching its infused identities.
| Infused head | Passive power | Active power |
|---|---|---|
| Zombie | Night Vision | Melee attacks can inflict Hunger |
| Zombie Villager | — | Villager trades receive a discount |
| Skeleton | Night Vision; arrows always count as critical | — |
| Creeper | Resistance | A lethal hit is converted into a controlled explosion, leaving you at 1 health and preserving your inventory |
| Drowned | Water Breathing and Dolphin's Grace | — |
| Husk | Prevents Hunger from affecting you | — |
| Stray | — | Arrows have a chance to inflict strong Slowness |
| Bogged | — | Arrows have a chance to inflict Poison |
| Spider | Jump Boost | Temporary flight for about 20 seconds |
| Cave Spider | — | Melee attacks have a chance to inflict Poison |
| Silverfish | — | Summons ten temporary Silverfish companions; using the crown on stone-brick blocks can also trigger this power |
| Enderman | Periodically grants an Ender Pearl | Teleports to the location you are looking at, up to 48 blocks away |
| Endermite | — | Ender Pearls summon five temporary Endermites at their landing point |
| Blaze | Fire Resistance | Launches a ring of eight Small Fireballs |
| Magma Cube | Fire Resistance | Arms a shield that absorbs three incoming hits, then releases an explosion |
| Ghast | Slow Falling | Fires a large Ghast fireball |
| Warden | — | Fires a sonic shriek that damages and knocks back a target |
| Wither | Resistance and Strength | Fires a charged Wither Skull |
| Ender Dragon | Fire Resistance | Summons the Ender Dragon Hoverboard |
Additional identities can provide smaller passive effects, including Jump Boost, Water Breathing, Slow Falling, Resistance, or Night Vision. The crown collection screen tracks the mob identities you have discovered and those currently infused.
Infusing a head into the crown creates a matching Mob Relic. Use a relic normally to activate its creature power without using the crown's C key.
Notable relics include:
Relics are single-use-per-activation items with a cooldown. Their effects correspond to the head identity used to create them.
Use the Ender Dragon Relic to spawn the hoverboard beneath you. The board supports one rider.
Use a filled Reincarnation Wand to summon its stored mob beside you. The companion is persistent, follows your fights, and returns toward you if it gets too far away.
Use the wand again while the companion is nearby to recall it into the wand. Recalled companions do not produce normal mob drops.
