Quickstart

1. Find the biomes. Shatterspace adds two new biomes — the Shatterspace Wastes and Mirror Dunes — that generate in your world. Look for pale, monochrome terrain, floating sky islands, jagged mountain needles, and deep ravines with crystal ledges.
2. Gather raw materials. Mine Pale Stone, Dark Stone, Mirrorstone, Silver Sand, Black Sand, and crystals directly from the landscape.
3. Craft your first weapon. Use a crafting table to combine Mirrorstone and crystals into early weapons like the Shatter Dagger or Shardblade.
4. Use active items. Hold a utility item like the Crystal Eye, Echo Stone, or Ghost Lantern and tap Use to trigger its special ability.
5. Progress toward Scatter gear. Gather White Obsidian, Black Quartz, and Shadow Crystals from the biomes to craft the powerful late-game Scatter Armor and Scatter Sword.

Overview

Shatterspace transforms parts of your world into a silent, monochrome dimension-like experience. Two custom biomes — the Shatterspace Wastes and Mirror Dunes — generate with dramatic vertical worldgen: high-altitude floating sky islands, jagged mountain needles, and deep ravines carved with crystal ledges, fractured glass seams, and black sand floors. Every block, item, and structure uses a cohesive pale-and-dark material palette.

The mod adds 22 building blocks, 7 foods, a suite of weapons, utility items, Scatter end-game armor and a sword, four plant types, and three custom enemy mobs — all with unique inventory icons.

How To Use

Active Weapons & Utility Items

Several weapons and all utility items have an active ability. Hold the item in your main hand and press Use (tap or right-click). Weapons with abilities trigger a large explosion particle and deal damage to all nearby entities. Utility items grant status effects or teleportation instantly. You will see a Shatterspace flavor message on your action bar whenever you hold any mod weapon.

Plants — Passive Touch Effects

Walking into or standing on Shatterspace plants grants short-duration buffs:

Mirror Sage

Approach a Mirror Sage (found in Shatterspace biomes during the day) and use the Interact button. They are completely invulnerable and serve as lore/NPC figures. They do not drop anything.

Structures & Hazards

The biomes contain ruins, dungeons, and structures guarded by Ashen Archers and Void Stalkers. Inside you can find restorative wells, reflective altars, and darkness hazards. Clear the hostiles to safely access these points of interest.

Crafting And Obtaining

Most raw materials are mined directly from the Shatterspace Wastes and Mirror Dunes biomes. The Scatter tier requires White Obsidian, Black Quartz, and Shadow Crystal, all found in those biomes.

Tip: The Scatter recipes unlock in the crafting table automatically once you have picked up Black Quartz or White Obsidian.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Area-burst weapons (Shardblade, Mirror Spear, Void Cleaver, Echo Scythe, Monolith Hammer): pressing Use deals damage to all nearby mobs in a radius (4 blocks for most, 7 blocks for the Monolith Hammer). The Void Cleaver deals 10 damage per burst hit.
• Echo Stone teleport: aims in your current view direction and moves you up to 8 blocks forward. Useful for crossing ravines and escaping enemies.
• Crystal Eye / Ghost Lantern / Mirror Heart / Monolith Fragment: quick consumable-style abilities — tap Use once for the full effect. These do not consume the item.
• Shatter Compass: reveals a cryptic lore message rather than a coordinate. Use it as a narrative guide while exploring.

Progression And Strategy

1. Early game — Explore the Wastes on foot. Collect Pale Stone, Dark Stone, and Silver Sand for basic building. Craft the Shatter Dagger or Ash Bow for early self-defense against Ashen Archers.
2. Mid game — Gather Mirrorstone and Crystals. Craft mid-tier weapons (Shardblade, Mirror Spear, Void Cleaver) and use their area bursts to clear Archers and Void Stalkers guarding structures. Harvest Ghost Berries and forage Fogroot Soup for reliable food.
3. Late game — Farm White Obsidian, Black Quartz, and Shadow Crystals from deep ravines. Craft the full Scatter Armor set (total protection 50, enchantability 50) and the Scatter Sword (18 damage). Enchant everything — the high enchantability makes these pieces extremely strong with enchantments applied.
4. Utility loop — Keep a Ghost Lantern and Echo Stone handy at all times. Night Vision lets you read the dark ravine floors safely; the Echo Stone lets you escape or reposition in tight dungeon corridors instantly.
5. Mirror Sages — Seek them out during daylight for lore context. They persist indefinitely and can be revisited.
