Search Summoner

Quickstart

1. Craft the Search Summoner item at a crafting table using two Ender Eyes and a Stick.
2. Hold it in your hand and use (right-click / tap) to enter query mode. Follow the on-screen prompt.
3. Type your search term in chat via the command /scriptevent ss <term> — for example, /scriptevent ss zombie.
4. Use the item again to summon matching entities directly in front of you.

Overview

The Search Summoner is a magical tool that lets you call any vanilla entity into the world by name. Simply search for a keyword and the item finds every entity whose name contains that term, then spawns up to five of them in a spread arc in front of you. It's an ideal tool for creative builders, adventure map makers, or anyone who wants quick access to specific mobs without memorizing exact commands.

How To Use

The Search Summoner works in a two-step cycle:

Step 1 — Set Your Query

Use the item while holding it. You'll receive a message prompting you to enter a search term. Type the following command in chat:

/scriptevent ss <your search term>

For example:

• /scriptevent ss zombie — finds all zombie-type entities
• /scriptevent ss horse — finds horses, skeleton horses, zombie horses, etc.
• /scriptevent ss witch — finds the witch

Once entered, the item confirms your query is saved and tells you to use the item again to summon.

Step 2 — Summon

Use the item a second time. The Search Summoner spawns up to 5 matching entities fanned out in a small arc directly in front of your position. Each summoned entity is listed in chat so you know exactly what appeared.

After summoning, the query is cleared and the item resets, ready for a new search.

No Matches

If your search term doesn't match any known entity, the item will tell you so in chat. Try a broader or differently spelled term.

The Search Summoner is crafted at a Crafting Table and appears in the Equipment tab of your inventory.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Fuzzy name matching — The search is case-insensitive and matches any entity whose ID contains your query, so partial terms like "pig" will catch pigs, piglins, piglin brutes, and zombie piglins.
• Up to 5 results — Only the first five matching entity types are summoned per use.
• Arc spawning — Matched entities appear spread out in front of you, making it easy to see and interact with all of them at once.
• Cooldown — The item has a short cooldown between uses to prevent accidental double-summoning.
• Durability — The item has 250 durability and loses 1 durability per use. Repair it with a Nether Star at an anvil (restores 125 durability per star).
• Enchantable — Accepts sword-slot enchantments at an enchanting table or anvil.
• Glint — The item has an enchanted glint appearance, reflecting its rare status.

Progression And Strategy

• Early game: Gather Ender Eyes (trade with Clerics or defeat Endermen and combine Ender Pearls with Blaze Powder) and a Stick to craft the item.
• Repair material: Nether Stars require defeating the Wither, so fully maintaining this item is a late-game investment.
• Creative use: Perfect for populating adventure maps, testing mob farms, or quickly finding rare entities like "elder_guardian" or "warden" without complex commands.
• Query tips: Use short, distinctive keywords. Searching "shulk" finds shulkers; "elder" finds elder guardians; "stray" finds only strays. The more specific your term, the more targeted your summons.
