Sculk Tendril Crusher

Quickstart

1. Craft a Sculk Tendril Crusher using the recipe below, then place it where you want to draw in nearby mobs.
2. It starts with a range of 4 blocks and works automatically, slowly pulling nearby mobs toward its intake.
3. To expand its range, hold an echo shard in your main hand and use it on the crusher. Each successful upgrade consumes one shard and adds 2 blocks, up to 16 blocks.
4. Use the crusher with an empty main hand to check its current range.

Overview

The Sculk Tendril Crusher is an automatic mob grinder. It reaches out to nearby mobs with tendrils of sculk energy, draws them toward the block, and kills them when they reach its intake. It does not store mobs.

What It Adds

• Sculk Tendril Crusher: A placeable block that pulls in nearby mobs.
• Range upgrades: Echo shards extend the crusher’s reach from 4 blocks to a maximum of 16.

How To Use

Place the crusher and let it run; no fuel or redstone signal is needed. Nearby mobs are pulled toward the intake above the block. When they get close enough, the crusher kills them.

The crusher targets mobs, not players or dropped items. Its tendrils appear as sculk-soul particles.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the crusher from sculk shriekers, a sculk sensor, sculk veins, a sculk catalyst, sculk, and an echo shard using the recipe shown above. It can also generate in the Deep Dark.

To pick up a placed crusher, mine it with a pickaxe.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Starting range: 4 blocks.
• Upgrade cost: One echo shard per successful upgrade.
• Upgrade amount: 2 blocks per shard, up to 16 blocks.
• Range check: Use the crusher with an empty main hand to display its current range.
• At maximum range: Further echo shards do not increase its range.

Progression And Strategy

Use the crusher at its starting range first, then add echo shards as you expand your grinder area. Place it where mobs can approach its intake, and check the displayed range when planning its coverage.
