Quickstart

1. Find a Deep Dark biome deep underground (Y -64 to Y -8) — the Sculk Boom Creeper spawns there naturally alongside vanilla Deep Dark mobs.
2. Alternatively, grab a Sculk Boom Creeper Spawn Egg from the Spawn Eggs creative tab and use it anywhere to summon one immediately.
3. Make noise near sculk sensors or shriekers to trigger it — then run.
4. Crouch (sneak) to avoid being detected if the creeper hasn't already locked onto a vibration.

Overview

Sculk Boom Creeper adds a dangerous new variant of creeper that lives exclusively in the deep underground. Completely blind, it hunts purely by sound — homing in on vibrations picked up by sculk sensors and shriekers rather than by sight. The mod also enriches vanilla Deep Dark caves with dense sculk patches, additional sensors, and shriekers, making deep exploration significantly more hazardous.

Surface biomes, trees, plants, sky color, and fog are completely unaffected. All sculk content is confined strictly below Y -8.

How To Use

Finding the Sculk Boom Creeper

Sculk Boom Creepers spawn naturally in the Deep Dark biome at depths between Y -64 and Y -8. They will not appear on the surface or in any other biome. If you want to encounter one on demand, use the Sculk Boom Creeper Spawn Egg from the creative inventory.

Surviving an Encounter

• Crouch (sneak) at all times. The Sculk Boom Creeper is completely blind and cannot directly target a sneaking player. It will not path toward you unless it detects a vibration first.
• Avoid triggering sensors and shriekers. Any vibration — footsteps, projectiles, block breaking — activates nearby sculk sensors and shriekers, which broadcast an alert the creeper will home in on.
• Don't linger near shriekers. The creeper prioritizes sculk alerts over all other stimuli, so a shrieker activation in its scan radius (roughly 16 blocks) will pull it directly toward the noise source.
• Give it space once it locks on. Once homing toward a vibration, it will attempt to close the distance and explode. Put walls or distance between you and its last detected position.

The Sculk Cave Environment

Deep Dark caves are now denser with sculk. Expect:

• Sculk blocks and catalysts covering cave floors and walls.
• Sculk sensors that detect any non-sneaking movement and alert nearby creepers.
• Sculk shriekers that escalate alerts and trigger Warning levels just as in vanilla Deep Dark.

This environment stacks on top of any existing Deep Dark mechanics, including the Warden — plan accordingly.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Blind: Cannot see players at all. Will not target you by line-of-sight under any circumstances.
• Vibration hunter: Continuously scans a ~16-block radius for activated sculk sensors and shriekers. When one triggers, it locks onto that position and moves toward it.
• Crouching immunity: A sneaking player produces no vibration and will not be targeted as long as no other noise is made.
• Sonic boom explosion: Performs a sonic boom before detonating, similar to the Warden's ranged attack.
• Not afraid of cats: Unlike regular creepers, ocelots and cats provide no protection.
• Warden neutral: The Warden will not target or attack the Sculk Boom Creeper — they are both creatures of the deep dark and coexist peacefully.

Progression And Strategy

Early Deep Dark exploration: Sneak everywhere. Bring a high-level sword or ranged weapon since you cannot rely on cats to keep the creeper at bay. Shield yourself from shrieker chains before they summon a Warden and attract a creeper.

Managing the sculk environment: Hoes can destroy sculk blocks quickly. Clearing sensor clusters before moving through a section will reduce the chance of accidentally triggering the creeper. Silk Touch allows you to collect sensors and shriekers for your own builds.

Using it offensively: The Sculk Boom Creeper's vibration-seeking behavior can be exploited. Throwing projectiles or using items that generate vibrations elsewhere can redirect an alerted creeper away from you, giving you time to escape or reposition.

Creative / adventure map use: Place the Sculk Boom Creeper in any custom cave or dungeon using its spawn egg for an instant tension-filled encounter that rewards sneaky, careful play over brute force.
