Rubyspell Sceptre

Quickstart

1. Craft the sceptre at a crafting table:

1. Place the Rubyspell Sceptre in your hotbar and equip it in either hand.
2. Face a nearby target and use the sceptre. A flame-like ruby burst appears a short distance in front of you and damages nearby entities.
3. Try it against groups of hostile mobs—the spell affects entities around the burst, but never damages its caster.

In Creative mode, you can also obtain it with:

/give @s com_rubyspell_sceptre_6nf2gxcq:my_sword

Overview

The Rubyspell Sceptre is a sword-like magic weapon. It combines strong melee attacks with a short-range area spell that deals magic damage.

What It Adds

  • Can be held in the off-hand
  • Can receive sword enchantments
  • Produces a visible flame-like burst when its spell is used

How To Use

Melee Attacks

Equip the sceptre and attack normally to use it as a melee weapon. Its melee attack deals 32 damage.

Ruby Spell

Use the sceptre while facing your target. The spell bursts out approximately two blocks in front of the player and affects entities within roughly 2.5 blocks of the burst.

The spell:

• Deals 30 magic damage to nearby entities
• Can damage multiple entities in the spell area
• Excludes the player who cast it
• Works best at short range
• Displays basic and colored flame particles at the impact point

Aim toward the center of a group to catch several enemies in the same burst.

Crafting And Obtaining

The crafting recipe uses one redstone block, one gold ingot, and one blaze rod:

The recipe is available at a crafting table and unlocks when you obtain a redstone block. In Creative mode, search for Rubyspell Sceptre in the Equipment category or use the /give command shown in Quickstart.

Abilities And Mechanics

The spell targets entities near the burst location rather than only the exact mob you are looking at, making it useful against clustered enemies. Non-damageable entities are unaffected.

Progression And Strategy

Craft the sceptre once you have access to redstone, gold, and blaze rods. Use melee attacks for individual targets and the spell when enemies gather together.

Because the spell is short-ranged, keep your aim steady and avoid standing too far from your target. The sceptre has 512 durability, so it can serve as a reliable weapon while you explore, fight, and test its magic.
