Ruby Spear

Quickstart

1. Grab a pickaxe and head underground to find Ruby Ore and Deepslate Ruby Ore.
2. Mine the ore with a pickaxe to collect Ruby Gems.
3. Take your gems to a crafting table and craft any of the Ruby tools or weapons below.
4. Equip the Ruby Spear and right-click/use it to lunge forward in the direction you're looking — great for closing distance on enemies or making a quick escape.
5. Equip the Ruby Hoe and use it on dirt, grass, dirt paths, coarse dirt, or rooted dirt to instantly till it into farmland.

Overview

Ruby Spear adds a full gem-based equipment line built around a new ore. Mine Ruby Ore to gather Ruby Gems, then forge a complete set of tools and weapons — including a special dashing Ruby Spear and a fast, light Ruby Dagger — to explore, fight, and farm more effectively.

What It Adds

• Ruby Ore — found underground, drops Ruby Gems when mined.
• Deepslate Ruby Ore — a tougher deepslate variant, also drops Ruby Gems.

• Ruby Gem — the crafting material used for all Ruby equipment.
• Ruby Sword — a strong melee weapon.
• Ruby Dagger — a lighter, faster sword-type weapon.
• Ruby Spear — a hard-hitting weapon with a built-in lunge attack.
• Ruby Axe — a high-damage axe for chopping and combat.
• Ruby Pickaxe — a fast-mining pickaxe, especially effective against pickaxe-mineable blocks.
• Ruby Shovel — a standard digging tool.
• Ruby Hoe — a farming tool that instantly tills eligible ground into farmland when used on it.

How To Use

• Mining Ruby Ore: Use any pickaxe to break Ruby Ore or Deepslate Ruby Ore. Each block drops one Ruby Gem.
• Equipping Weapons and Tools: Any Ruby tool or weapon can be held in your main hand like its vanilla counterpart.
• Ruby Spear Lunge: While holding the Ruby Spear, use the item (right-click/trigger use) to launch yourself forward in the direction you're facing, accompanied by a sharp metallic sound. Great for gap-closing or repositioning in combat.
• Ruby Hoe Tilling: Use the Ruby Hoe directly on dirt, grass blocks, dirt paths, coarse dirt, or rooted dirt to turn it into farmland instantly, without needing repeated swings.
• All Ruby tools can be enchanted at an enchanting table like their vanilla equivalents.

Crafting And Obtaining

Ruby Gems are obtained by mining Ruby Ore or Deepslate Ruby Ore with a pickaxe. Once you have gems and sticks, craft any of the following at a crafting table:

Abilities And Mechanics

All Ruby equipment is enchantable, using the same enchantment behavior as their vanilla tool/weapon type.

Progression And Strategy

Start by locating Ruby Ore near the surface and Deepslate Ruby Ore deeper underground. Since every Ruby tool requires only gems and sticks, a modest ore-mining trip can quickly outfit you with a full toolkit. Prioritize the Ruby Pickaxe early to speed up further ore collection, then craft the Ruby Spear or Ruby Dagger for combat — the Spear's lunge is especially useful for engaging enemies at range or escaping dangerous fights. The Ruby Hoe is a strong pick for players setting up farms quickly, since it converts eligible ground to farmland in a single use.
