Mod Wiki
Rotjaw Batlord
Quickstart
- Craft an Ogre Kingdom Blueprint. If commands are enabled, you can obtain one with
/rotjaw blueprint.

- Use the blueprint on a block. A deepslate-brick fortress appears around the placement point. The blueprint is consumed outside Creative mode.
- Enter the fortress, defeat its zombies, spiders, skeletons, creeper, and Ogre Bodyguard, then find the glowing Rotjaw Portal.
- Craft a Rotjaw Portal Egg.

- Use the Rotjaw Portal Egg directly on the Rotjaw Portal. Ordinary flint and steel does not activate it. The egg is consumed outside Creative mode.
- You are transported to an ogre kingdom and surrounded by eight Ogre Minions and Rotjaw Batlord. Keep your distance from the Batlord’s poison aura and defeat it.
Overview
Rotjaw Batlord is a fortress assault and boss encounter. First, build the fortress with the Ogre Kingdom Blueprint. Its portal leads to a separate ogre kingdom where the poison-wielding Rotjaw Batlord awaits.
The encounter is designed around two stages:
- Fortress assault: Fight through hostile mobs, TNT launchers, cobwebs, and the Ogre Bodyguard.
- Ogre kingdom: Activate the portal, survive the Ogre Minions, and defeat Rotjaw Batlord.
What It Adds
| Content | Use |
|---|---|
| Ogre Kingdom Blueprint | Builds the fortress entrance encounter when used on a block. |
| Rotjaw Portal | A glowing dormant portal surface used to begin the boss encounter. |
| Rotjaw Portal Egg | The only item that activates a Rotjaw Portal. |
| Rotjaw Batlord | A large, slow, poison-focused boss. |
| Ogre Bodyguard | A powerful Batlord-like guard stationed in the fortress. |
| Ogre Minions | Zombies that appear when the ogre kingdom encounter begins. |
| Barbed Bat | A combat item whose attacks poison living targets. |
The Ogre Kingdom Blueprint and Rotjaw Portal Egg appear in the Creative Ingredients tab. The Rotjaw Portal block is in Building Blocks, and the Barbed Bat is in Combat.
How To Use
Building the Fortress
Hold the Ogre Kingdom Blueprint and use it on any block. The fortress is built around the adjacent block face and includes:
- A deepslate-brick outer fortress
- A glowing Rotjaw Portal
- Four TNT launchers
- Cobweb hazards
- Zombies, spiders, skeletons, and a creeper
- An Ogre Bodyguard
The TNT launchers periodically send primed TNT into the fortress. Look for the portal after clearing or bypassing the defenses.
Activating the Portal
Hold a Rotjaw Portal Egg and use it directly on a Rotjaw Portal block. Activation immediately constructs the ogre kingdom and teleports you there.
The portal egg is consumed when used in Survival or Adventure mode. Creative players do not consume the blueprint or egg.
Starting the Boss Fight
The ogre kingdom contains a blackstone enclosure with netherrack and soul fire. After teleporting there:
- Eight Ogre Minions spawn around the area.
- Rotjaw Batlord appears inside the kingdom.
- The Batlord immediately targets the player.
Defeat the minions and boss to complete the encounter.
Crafting And Obtaining
Ogre Kingdom Blueprint
Craft the blueprint from obsidian, paper, rotten flesh, and gold nuggets.
The blueprint has a maximum stack size of one. It can also be obtained with /rotjaw blueprint when commands are available.
Rotjaw Portal Egg
Craft the portal egg from a regular egg, an ender pearl, a spider eye, and rotten flesh.
The egg has a maximum stack size of 16 and is used only on Rotjaw Portal blocks.
Rotjaw Portal
The Rotjaw Portal is constructed as part of the fortress and ogre kingdom. It is also available as a block in the Creative Building Blocks tab. It remains dormant until activated with a Rotjaw Portal Egg.
Barbed Bat
The Barbed Bat is available in the Creative Combat tab. It has no listed crafting recipe. When it hits a living target, it applies Poison for 2.5 seconds.
Abilities And Mechanics
Rotjaw Batlord
- Health: 80 points
- Attack damage: 6 points
- Movement: Slow
- Knockback resistance: High
- Melee effect: Successful attacks apply Poison II for 4 seconds.
- Toxic breath: Players within 3 blocks repeatedly receive Poison III.
- Experience: Worth 80 experience points when defeated.
The Ogre Bodyguard uses the same large, slow, poison-focused combat profile, so treat it as a serious threat even before reaching the portal.
Fortress Hazards
The fortress has four automated TNT launchers. They fire on a regular cycle, giving you limited time to move through exposed areas. Cobwebs near the sides of the fortress can slow escapes and make it easier for hostile mobs to surround you.
Barbed Bat
The Barbed Bat applies Poison I for 2.5 seconds on a successful hit. It is most useful for close-range pressure against ordinary mobs or other living targets.
Progression And Strategy
- Prepare before building. Bring strong armor, food, a shield, blocks, and a ranged weapon. Milk can remove poison effects.
- Choose a safe building site. Leave room around the blueprint for the fortress and avoid placing it beside valuable structures.
- Handle the entrance carefully. Watch for TNT, spiders in the cobwebs, skeleton arrows, and the creeper. Do not rush straight toward the portal.
- Separate the Ogre Bodyguard. Its poison aura is dangerous at close range, so use terrain, ranged attacks, or a doorway to control the fight.
- Activate only when ready. Using the egg teleports you to the kingdom and begins the boss encounter immediately.
- Clear the Ogre Minions first. Reducing the number of attackers gives you more room to avoid Rotjaw’s aura.
- Keep Rotjaw at range. The Batlord is slow but has a long follow range, heavy knockback resistance, a damaging melee attack, and a powerful close-range poison aura.
- Use cover and elevation. Pillars, walls, and uneven terrain help you break line of sight and create space while recovering from poison.
