Ranked Ascension

Quickstart

1. Join any world or server with the mod installed — no crafting or setup needed.
2. Look at the top-right corner of your screen for the golden "Ranked Points: 0" HUD display.
3. Kill any mob. An action-bar message appears instantly showing your point gain and current tier.
4. Run /ranked to see your full stats, or /ranked top to see the leaderboard.
5. Challenge other players in PvP — killing a player steals all of their points and resets them to zero.

Overview

Ranked Ascension turns every kill into a persistent competitive scoring system. Every mob you defeat awards points based on how dangerous it is, bosses award large bonuses, and killing another player steals their entire point total. Points accumulate across sessions (stored server-side with the world) and push you through seven tiers — from Copper all the way to Ender. A compact HUD overlay keeps your score visible at all times, and action-bar messages give instant feedback for every meaningful event without flooding chat.

Reaching a new tier triggers an action-bar rank-up announcement visible to you immediately.

Abilities And Mechanics

Points from Kills

• Ender Dragon — 600 points
• Wither — 450 points
• Hostile mobs (monsters) — 18–120 points, scaled by the mob's max health
• Passive/water creatures — 2–12 points, scaled by max health
• Ambient mobs — 2 points
• Other entities — 5–25 points, scaled by max health

PvP Kill Steal

When you kill another player, you receive all of their current points and their total is reset to zero. This makes high-ranked players valuable targets and creates real risk in PvP.

HUD Display

Your current Ranked Points are shown in the top-right corner of the screen at all times (hidden when the HUD is hidden). The value is read directly from the server scoreboard so it is always accurate.

Action-Bar Overlays

Temporary messages appear on your action bar (above the hotbar) for:

• Points earned from a kill and your new total
• Rank-up notifications
• PvP point steals (both the killer and the victim see a message)
• Operator-triggered point resets or manual point changes
• Your current tier and points when you join the world

These messages disappear automatically and never fill chat.

Progression And Strategy

• Focus on bosses early — the Ender Dragon (600 pts) and Wither (450 pts) are the fastest ways to jump tiers.
• Hostile mobs are your bread and butter — grinding dangerous mobs like Wardens or Evokers yields the highest per-kill points among regular mobs.
• Protect your score in PvP — the higher your rank, the bigger the target on your back. A single PvP death wipes your entire point total.
• Hunt high-ranked players — killing a Diamond or Netherite tier player in PvP can catapult you several tiers in a single strike.
• Passive mob kills are very low value — avoid farming animals if climbing rank is your goal.
• Use /ranked top to track rivals — knowing who is close behind (or ahead) helps you decide when to engage or retreat.
