Liminal Pools

Quickstart

1. Craft a Quartzwater Key at a crafting table using the recipe below.
2. Select the Key and use it to open the travel menu. Choose Enter Liminal Pools.
3. Explore the connected rooms, checking both dry floors and shallow pools.
4. Use the Key again and choose Return home to go back to the Overworld spawn.

Overview

Liminal Pools is a sprawling, enclosed dimension of connected quartz rooms in different sizes. Some rooms have shallow pools; others are dry. Lighting varies from bright to dim, and mobs do not spawn naturally here.

What It Adds

How To Use

• Travel: Use the Quartzwater Key and select the travel option shown. The menu offers Enter Liminal Pools when you are outside and Return home when you are inside; choose Cancel to stay where you are.
• Set a respawn point: Place a bed in the halls and interact with it. You can sleep in it during normal nighttime hours.
• Search pools: Look along pool floors for chests as you explore.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Quartzwater Key from quartz, prismarine crystals, and a prismarine shard:

Mine White Pool Tile with a pickaxe to collect it. Poolweed can be collected by breaking existing plants.

To place Poolweed, use it on a White Pool Tile that has source water directly above it. Alternatively, use bone meal on a White Pool Tile with source water above it to grow Poolweed there. Poolweed does not grow further on its own.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Rooms vary in size, lighting, and whether they contain water.
• Poolweed sways underwater and emits a small amount of light. Poolweed Blocks emit more light.
• Mobs do not spawn naturally in the dimension.

Progression And Strategy

There is no required route or combat progression. Wander between rooms, explore shallow pools, and check pool floors for possible chests. Bring your own light sources if you want to make dim areas easier to navigate.
