Description
You can also summon it with:
/summon com_prototype_dreadclimber_g5vtgx2b:mywarden
The Prototype Dreadclimber is an extremely durable monster based on the Warden. It hunts players and other living entities, climbs, follows targets through difficult terrain, and can attack without a direct line of sight.
It naturally appears alone in dark, deep underground areas at heights from Y -64 through Y 0. Its natural spawning conditions include:
Find the Prototype Dreadclimber Spawn Egg in the Creative inventory and use it on a block. The mob can be spawned in any suitable location with the egg.
The Dreadclimber has no trading, taming, breeding, or equipment system. Interacting with it does not provide a special ability; treat it as a hostile mob.
Use the entity identifier with /summon:
/summon com_prototype_dreadclimber_g5vtgx2b:mywarden
To remove a summoned Dreadclimber during a Creative testing session, use:
/kill @e[type=com_prototype_dreadclimber_g5vtgx2b:mywarden]
The Dreadclimber has extremely high health and ignores damage from every normal damage source. Weapons, projectiles, fire, fall damage, and environmental hazards do not provide a practical way to defeat it.
It also has complete knockback resistance, so pushing it away is not a reliable defense.
The Dreadclimber can climb vertical, climbable routes. Walls and elevated platforms should not be assumed to protect you.
It can also:
It searches for non-inanimate entities within 64 blocks, excluding other Prototype Dreadclimbers. Players and most living mobs can become targets.
When attacked or disturbed, it can react to the aggressor and alert other Dreadclimbers of the same type.
The Dreadclimber listens for vibrations and investigates suspicious locations. Movement, projectiles, and other disturbances can increase its anger.
As anger rises, its sounds and heartbeat become more intense. Do not assume that staying out of sight will make you safe.
Its close-range attack deals an overwhelmingly large amount of damage and is effectively fatal to any target without special protection. It can attack targets around itself in a full 360-degree area and attacks rapidly once in range.
The Dreadclimber can charge and release a sonic boom that:
Listen for the charge sound and keep moving when it begins preparing the attack.
Players within 20 blocks can receive Darkness for about 13 seconds. This effect can be applied again after a cooldown, making caves and enclosed arenas especially dangerous.
Invulnerable players are excluded from this effect.
The Dreadclimber can stop to sniff, investigate, roar, or enter a digging state. Digging does not make it safe to approach, and it does not remove its ability to resume the hunt.
It does not perform its digging behavior in daylight.
The Dreadclimber is immune to fire and is not meaningfully slowed by hazardous terrain such as lava.
There are no crafting recipes for the Prototype Dreadclimber or its spawn egg.
You can obtain the mob by:
/summon commandAll listed loot requires the Dreadclimber to be killed by a player:
| Drop | Amount and chance |
|---|---|
| Sculk Catalyst | 1 guaranteed |
| Diamond | 2–4 guaranteed |
| Echo Shard | 1–2, with a 25% base chance; Looting improves the chance |
| Crying Obsidian | 1–3, with a 40% base chance; Looting improves the chance |
| Experience | 5 experience points |
Because the Dreadclimber ignores ordinary damage, these drops are primarily relevant when it is removed through a special scenario or command that still registers a player kill.
The Prototype Dreadclimber is not a conventional boss with a normal survival-combat solution. Treat an encounter as an escape or containment challenge.
