Prismatic Grove
Quickstart
- Get the three attunement shards: Sun Shard, Ember Shard, and Grove Shard.
- Place a Prism Altar block and interact with it while holding (or simply carrying) one of each shard.
- Stand within 10 blocks of the altar for 30 seconds while the attunement runs.
- When it completes, you'll receive a Grove Bloom.
- Use the Grove Bloom item to open your Prismatic Journal and check your progress.
- Craft and place Grove Torches to light up your world.
Overview
Prismatic Grove adds a small ritual-based progression loop built around a magical altar. Players gather colored shards, offer them at a Prism Altar, and wait through a short attunement period to earn Grove Blooms — a token of progress tracked per player. Along the way, the mod also gives you the Grove Torch, a light source themed around the grove's prismatic energy.
What It Adds
- Prism Altar – a placeable block that starts the attunement ritual when interacted with.
- Sun Shard, Ember Shard, Grove Shard – three shard items consumed together to begin a ritual.
- Grove Bloom – earned by completing a ritual; also functions as your Prismatic Journal key item.
- Grove Torch – a light-giving item/block for illuminating your builds.
- A hidden scoreboard objective (
pg_bloom) tracks each player's total Grove Blooms, viewable in-game with standard scoreboard displays if desired.
How To Use
Starting a Ritual
Walk up to a placed Prism Altar and interact with it while carrying at least one Sun Shard, one Ember Shard, and one Grove Shard. Interacting consumes one of each shard and begins a 30-second attunement:
- The altar plays a chime and announces "The Prism Altar awakens."
- You must remain within 10 blocks of the altar. If you wander too far, the action bar will warn you to return, and the countdown pauses until you're back in range.
- The action bar shows the remaining time and your current Grove Bloom total while attuning.
- Only one ritual can be active per player at a time — trying to start another while one is in progress will just remind you to stay nearby.
Completing a Ritual
When the timer reaches zero while you're in range:
- You receive a Grove Bloom.
- A level-up sound plays and a message confirms the attunement is complete.
- Your Grove Bloom count and total completed attunements both increase.
The Prismatic Journal
Using the Grove Bloom item opens the Prismatic Journal, a simple menu showing:
- Whether a ritual is currently active and how much time remains.
- Your total Grove Blooms earned.
- Your total Completed Attunements.
If no ritual is active, the journal reminds you to craft the three shards and interact with a Prism Altar to begin.
Lighting With Grove Torches
The Grove Torch can be carried and used like a decorative light source to brighten dark areas of your builds and grove.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Prism Altar, shards, Grove Bloom, and Grove Torch are obtained through normal survival means available in your world (crafting, gathering, or creative inventory, depending on how your world is set up). The Prism Altar can also be broken and re-placed, since mining it drops the altar block itself.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Shard Offering: Starting a ritual requires exactly one Sun Shard, one Ember Shard, and one Grove Shard — all three are consumed at once.
- Proximity Requirement: You must stay within a 10-block radius of the altar for the ritual to progress; leaving pauses your progress but does not cancel it.
- Persistence: Active rituals are saved, so an in-progress attunement will resume correctly even if you leave and rejoin the world.
- Scoreboard Tracking: Your Grove Bloom total is mirrored to a scoreboard objective, making it easy to display on-screen or compare with other players.
Progression And Strategy
Focus on gathering all three shard types before approaching the Prism Altar, since a ritual won't start without a complete set. Once attuned, stay close to the altar — building a small waiting area or garden around it makes it easy to pass the 30 seconds without wandering out of range. Repeating the ritual grows your Grove Bloom count and Completed Attunements, letting you track your progress toward becoming a true keeper of the Prismatic Grove.
