Poison Trader Witch
Quickstart
- Load into a world with the mod active and find (or travel to) a village with several villagers nearby.
- Stay in the area — the mod automatically scans for villager clusters and builds a small witch hut among them, spawning an OP Poison Trader Witch inside. A chat message notifies all nearby players when this happens.
- Put emeralds in your inventory and walk within 5 blocks of the witch.
- A trade menu opens automatically. Pick a trade, and the emeralds are taken from your inventory in exchange for the reward.
- Alternatively, use the OP Poison Trader Witch Spawn Egg (available in Creative inventory) to place a witch anywhere you like.
Overview
Poison Trader Witch adds a unique mob to Minecraft villages: the OP Poison Trader Witch. She looks like a custom witch-style figure, wanders her hut, and offers brutally powerful trades for emeralds. She will never attack players — but nearby villagers are not so lucky. She periodically applies Poison V to villagers around her, so be aware of the risk to your village population. Her presence creates a tense but rewarding dynamic: powerful loot is available, but at a cost to your villagers.
What It Adds
| Content | Details |
|---|
| OP Poison Trader Witch | Custom mob, 80 HP, witch-style appearance with unique texture and animations |
| Witch Hut Structure | Small hut automatically built at the center of a villager cluster |
| Trade Menu | Three powerful trades unlocked by holding emeralds nearby |
| Spawn Egg | Dark purple & green egg for manual placement in Creative mode |
How To Use
Automatic Village Spawning
The mod continuously scans for groups of villagers near any player. When enough villagers are found clustered together and no witch hut exists there yet, the mod:
- Constructs a small witch hut at the center of the cluster.
- Spawns the OP Poison Trader Witch inside it.
- Broadcasts a message to all players within ~80 blocks.
Each village location only spawns one witch hut. If you travel away and return, the existing hut and witch persist.
Opening the Trade Menu
Hold emeralds in your inventory and walk within 5 blocks of the witch. The trade menu opens as a button-based screen. Select the trade you want — if you have enough emeralds, they are consumed and the item is delivered directly to your inventory.
If you don't have enough emeralds for a trade, the witch will tell you how many she needs.
Manual Placement
In Creative mode, find the OP Poison Trader Witch Spawn Egg in the spawn eggs section of the inventory. Place it anywhere to summon a witch immediately, without needing a village.
Trades
| Cost | Reward |
|---|
| 8 Emeralds | Totem of Undying (×1) |
| 16 Emeralds | Enchanted Golden Apple (×1) |
| 24 Emeralds | Netherite Sword (×1) |
All three trades are always available every time you open the menu.
Abilities And Mechanics
- High Health: The witch has 80 HP — significantly more than most vanilla mobs — making her difficult to kill.
- Poison V on Villagers: The witch periodically applies Poison V to nearby villagers. She does not target or attack players under any circumstances.
- Persistent: The witch does not despawn naturally once spawned at a hut site.
- Loot on Death: If killed (by a player or any other means), she drops:
- 3–9 Emeralds
- 1–4 Glowstone Dust
- 25 experience points (if killed by a player)
- Trade Interest Behavior: When a player approaches, the witch takes notice and may turn to face them within a 6-block radius.
Progression And Strategy
- Prioritize the Totem: 8 emeralds for a Totem of Undying is an exceptional deal early in a playthrough. Stock up on emeralds through villager trading before approaching.
- Protect Your Villagers: The witch continuously poisons nearby villagers. Consider luring or moving vulnerable villagers away from the hut, or keep a supply of milk to cure them.
- Farm Emeralds First: The Netherite Sword trade costs 24 emeralds — worth saving for, as it provides an immediate upgrade without mining.
- Use the Spawn Egg in Creative: If you want a personal witch trader at your base rather than in a village, place one with the spawn egg anywhere in the world.
- Don't Kill Her Recklessly: While her loot drops are useful, losing access to the trade menu costs you all three premium trades. The emerald drops alone rarely outweigh what her trades offer over time.
