Quickstart

1. Craft a Pocket Phone using the recipe below.
2. Hold the phone in either hand.
3. Press your Use Item key (right-click by default) while holding it to open the phone's home screen.
4. Tap through the on-screen apps to check the clock, compass, health, weather, a calculator, notes, and more.
5. Use the phone's Craft and Chest apps to open a portable crafting table and your personal storage from anywhere.

Overview

The Pocket Phone is a lightweight, always-in-your-pocket gadget that bundles several handy tools into one item. Instead of carrying a compass, clock, crafting table, and chest separately, you carry one phone and access everything through a simple in-game menu.

What It Adds

• Pocket Phone — a craftable item that opens a smartphone-style interface with multiple built-in apps.
• Home Screen — the main menu you land on when opening the phone, from which you launch individual apps.
• Apps included:
  • Clock – check the in-game time at a glance.
  • Compass – see directional info without a physical compass.
  • Health – view your current health status.
  • Weather – check current weather conditions.
  • Inventory – quick look at your inventory.
  • Calculator – a working calculator for basic math.
  • Craft – opens a portable 3x3 crafting grid, letting you craft anywhere as if standing at a crafting table.
  • Notes – jot down and save personal notes.
  • Settings – customize phone options (such as its theme color).
  • Chest – opens your personal cloud storage (backed by your ender chest), accessible from anywhere.
  • Radar – track nearby entities or points of interest.
  • Messenger – send or view messages.

How To Use

• Opening the phone: Hold the Pocket Phone in your main hand or off-hand and press the Use Item key. The phone screen opens instantly — no menu or block is required.
• Navigating apps: From the home screen, click an app icon to jump into that tool. Each app has its own simple interface (buttons, text fields, or readouts).
• Portable Crafting: Opening the Craft app brings up a full crafting-table interface. You can craft any recipe you normally would at a crafting table, without needing one placed nearby.
• Portable Storage: Opening the Chest app gives you access to a personal storage space you can reach from anywhere — perfect for stashing items on the go without carrying a chest.
• Notes and Settings: Anything you type into the Notes app is saved for later, and Settings lets you tweak the phone's appearance, such as its accent color.
• Only one Pocket Phone is needed — it stacks to just 1 per item, so treat it like a precious tool rather than a stackable resource.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Pocket Phone using iron ingots, a glass pane, and redstone in a shaped recipe:

The recipe is unlocked automatically as soon as you join a world, so it will show up in your recipe book right away.

Abilities And Mechanics

• The Pocket Phone can be enchanted for extra durability, letting it survive longer use.
• The phone must be held in hand (main or off-hand) to open its screen or to use the Craft/Chest apps.
• The portable crafting and chest features work anywhere — no nearby crafting table or chest block is needed.
• The phone's screen is entirely client-side navigation; switching apps is instant and doesn't consume any items or durability.

Progression And Strategy

Craft a Pocket Phone early once you have spare iron and redstone — it's a general quality-of-life item rather than a combat or building tool. Keep it in your hotbar or off-hand while exploring so you can:

• Check your health and the time without opening extra menus.
• Craft quick items on the move using the Craft app instead of returning to base.
• Stash or retrieve items via the Chest app during long expeditions.
• Use the Radar and Compass apps to keep track of your surroundings while traveling.
