Description:
.mcaddon file and apply both the resource pack and behavior pack to your world. To see the mod in action right away, find a village and lure a hostile mob (such as a zombie or skeleton) into it. Watch the villagers pull out iron swords and charge at the threat.
Player Villagers transforms every villager entity in the game — including legacy villagers and wandering traders — into a player-like character. They look like Steve, move like a player, and fight like one too. Villages go from passive settlements full of easy raid targets to communities of armed, reactive defenders.
There is nothing to configure or craft. Install the add-on and it works automatically across all dimensions — the Overworld, Nether, and the End.
Trading works exactly as before. Right-click (or use the interact button) on a villager to open the trade menu. Their new appearance and combat behavior do not interfere with normal trading.
All affected entities share a single Steve-style skin and player-proportioned model. They display walking, looking, and attack animations just like a player character.
Every two seconds, each villager receives a refresh of Speed I and Regeneration I. These effects are invisible (no particles) and keep the villagers quick on their feet and slowly recovering health between fights.
Each villager scans for hostile mobs within 12 blocks. If a threat is found, the villager targets the closest one and acts:
| Situation | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Hostile mob is more than ~2.6 blocks away | Villager nudges toward the target |
| Hostile mob is within ~2.6 blocks | Villager deals 2 hearts of damage and applies knockback |
| Villager is hit by any hostile mob | Villager immediately retaliates with 2 hearts of damage |
Villagers will react to a wide range of threats, including zombies, skeletons, creepers, pillagers, ravagers, phantoms, the warden, the wither, and many more. They do not aggro on neutral mobs or other villagers.
