Pinksteel Guardian

Quickstart

1. In Creative mode, search for Pinksteel Guardian Spawn Egg in the inventory.

2. Use the spawn egg on the ground to summon a guardian.

3. Place it near a village or base. It wanders around and attacks nearby monsters automatically.

4. To test its special behavior, bring an Ender Hugger within about 6 blocks of the guardian. The guardian approaches and sends its calming interaction automatically.

5. You can also summon one with:

   /summon com_pinksteel_guardian_oicxpktz:mynpc
   

The guardian is persistent, so it remains in the world after being placed. Use the interact button on it to interact with the mob.

Overview

The Pinksteel Guardian is a durable protector that patrols the Overworld, defends villages, and battles most monsters. It is especially useful around settlements and player bases because it can detect hostile mobs up to 32 blocks away.

Unlike its normal monster targets, the guardian does not attack Ender Huggers, endermen, piglins, zombified piglins, spiders, or cave spiders. Instead, it can calm an Ender Hugger when it comes close.

How To Use

Spawning

The guardian can be spawned in two ways:

• Use the Pinksteel Guardian Spawn Egg on a block.

• Use the summon command:

  /summon com_pinksteel_guardian_oicxpktz:mynpc
  

Guardians naturally spawn on the Overworld surface during bright conditions. Natural groups contain one guardian, and they are uncommon compared with ordinary creatures.

Defense

After spawning, the guardian acts on its own:

• It detects eligible monsters within 32 blocks.
• It must be able to see and reach its target.
• It follows targets and attacks with melee strikes.
• It can open and pass through doors.
• It can walk over water.
• It wanders when no target is nearby and sometimes moves toward villages.

Keep the guardian near the area you want protected. It is not a player-controlled mount or equipment item.

Interacting With an Ender Hugger

The guardian has a special response to Ender Huggers:

1. Spawn or lead an Ender Hugger near the guardian.
2. Bring it within roughly 6 blocks.
3. Allow the guardian to approach.

The guardian sends its calming interaction automatically and does not choose the Ender Hugger as a normal melee target. It also avoids attacking endermen, piglins, zombified piglins, spiders, and cave spiders.

Abilities And Mechanics

The guardian can take damage from all damage causes, but its fire immunity makes it safe to use in burning areas and around lava hazards. It has strong knockback resistance, so hostile mobs cannot easily push it away from a defense position.

Crafting And Obtaining

There is no crafting recipe for the Pinksteel Guardian or its spawn egg.

In Survival-style play, guardians can appear naturally on the bright Overworld surface. In Creative mode, obtain the Pinksteel Guardian Spawn Egg from the inventory or use the summon command.

Drops

When killed by a player, a Pinksteel Guardian drops:

• 3–5 iron ingots
• 0–2 poppies
• A 15% chance of 1 pink dye

The Looting enchantment can increase the iron and poppy quantities and can improve the chance of the pink dye drop. Kills without player involvement do not produce these drops.

Progression And Strategy

• Place a guardian near a village entrance or base perimeter so it can see approaching monsters.
• Keep it in an open area; its targeting requires a clear line of sight and a reachable path.
• Use several guardians to cover larger settlements, spacing them so their 32-block detection areas overlap.
• Avoid relying on the guardian for spiders, cave spiders, endermen, piglins, zombified piglins, or Ender Huggers, since these are excluded from its normal attack targeting.
• Use the guardian’s Ender Hugger interaction as a safer way to manage one nearby rather than expecting the guardian to defeat it.
• Protect the guardian from non-monster threats, since it can be damaged by all damage causes despite its fire immunity and knockback resistance.
