Phantom Chat

Quickstart

1. Run the command /phantomchat (or /phantomchat enable) to bring your server to life with fake "players."
2. Keep playing normally — mine, build, and chat as usual.
3. Watch your player list (tab menu) as phantom names join and leave over time, and watch chat as they react to what you say and do.
4. Type /phantomchat status to check whether Phantom Chat is currently active.
5. Type /phantomchat roster to see who's currently "in" your world, or /phantomchat details for more information about the simulated players.
6. Type /phantomchat disable (or just /phantomchat toggle) whenever you want your world to feel quiet and empty again.

Overview

Phantom Chat fills a singleplayer or lightly populated server with the illusion of other people. It generates a rotating cast of believable fake players — complete with realistic usernames, distinct personalities, and even generated skins — who appear to join and leave your game, show up in the tab list, and chat with you. They react to nearly everything you say, mine, build, or achieve, with only a small chance of staying silent, making your world feel busier and more alive without anyone actually being there.

What It Adds

• Simulated players: Procedurally generated usernames (built from prefixes, cores, and suffixes like MossyMiner_YT or EnderWizardHD) each with their own personality type — toxic, friendly, noob, chill, builder, nerd, miner, nether, or chaos.
• Tab list presence: Fake players appear to join and leave your player list at randomized intervals, complete with fake ping/latency and generated skins so they look like real accounts.
• Reactive chat: These phantom players comment on your messages, your mining, your building, your deaths, and your advancements, each responding in a tone that matches their personality.
• Ambient chatter: Even when you say nothing, phantom players occasionally post unprompted messages to keep the chat feeling active.
• Sound cues: Join/leave and warning-style sound effects reinforce the feeling that other people are entering and leaving your world.

How To Use

Phantom Chat is controlled entirely through the /phantomchat command (case-insensitive; /Phantomchat also works):

Once enabled, no further setup is required — phantom players will begin joining on their own after a short delay, and will start chatting and reacting to your actions automatically.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Chat replies: When you send a chat message, one of the active phantom players will typically respond with a short, personality-flavored line related to what you said. There's roughly a 5% chance any given phantom stays silent instead, so not every message gets a reply.
• Reacting to actions: Phantom players take notice of specific milestones and events:
  • Mining diamond ore or deepslate diamond ore
  • Placing blocks
  • Dying
  • Earning advancements, including delayed "congratulations" for early-game, mid-game, and late-game achievements
• Join/leave waves: Phantom players enter and exit the tab list on their own randomized schedule, simulating people coming online and going offline.
• New player behavior: Freshly "joined" phantom players stay quieter for a while before jumping into conversation, mimicking a real new player getting their bearings.
• Server-wide flavor messages: Occasional system-style messages may appear to simulate general server activity.

Progression And Strategy

There's no crafting or items to collect — Phantom Chat is a toggleable ambiance feature. To get the most out of it:

• Leave it enabled while building or exploring solo to make your world feel populated.
• Chat naturally; phantom players are designed to respond to ordinary conversation, not special keywords.
• Mine diamonds, place blocks, and rack up advancements to trigger extra reactions and callouts from the phantom crowd.
• Use /phantomchat roster and /phantomchat details periodically to see the current cast of "players" sharing your world.
• Toggle it off with /phantomchat disable if you want a genuinely quiet, solo experience.
