Quickstart

1. Get a Garden Pot first — it's the base ingredient for almost every plant in this mod ().
2. Craft a basic Peashooter and place it in your garden to start shooting peas at approaching Garden Zombies.
3. Build up sun production with Sunflowers and their upgraded forms to afford stronger plants.
4. Add defensive plants like Wall-nut and offensive plants like Cherry Bomb or Potato Mine to hold your line.
5. Craft a Bucket of Poison to unlock the goo/poison plant line, and combine repeaters with elemental peas (fire, snow, electric) for special effects.
6. Watch for Garden Zombies emerging near Graves at night — defend your rows before they reach your base!

Overview

Pea Garden Defense turns your world into a tower-defense-style garden battle. Craft plant-like blocks that behave as turrets and defenses, place them in rows, and use them to fend off waves of Garden Zombies that spawn near graves. Inspired by classic plants-vs-zombies gameplay, this mod adds dozens of plant blocks, elemental variants, explosives, and defensive structures, plus new zombie-like threats to fight.

• Garden Zombies — the main horde threatening your garden, come in growing numbers and must be repelled with your plant defenses.
• Fire Creeper — a fiery hostile mob you can interact with; comes with its own spawn egg for testing or custom encounters.

How To Use

• Place a Garden Defense Pot where you want to grow a plant, then place the plant item on top of it (most plant recipes require a Garden Pot as an ingredient).
• Arrange attacking plants in rows facing the direction zombies will approach from — they automatically fire at enemies within range.
• Keep Sunflowers and their upgrades near the back to safely produce resources while defenses hold the front line.
• Use Wall-nuts and Tall-nuts to block or slow tougher zombies while your shooters wear them down.
• Detonate Cherry Bombs or drop TNT variants when overwhelmed by large hordes.
• Watch for Graves appearing in your garden or nearby — they indicate where Garden Zombies will emerge.
• Elemental plants (Fire, Snow, Electric, Goo/Poison, Shadow) apply status effects on hit — mix types to counter different zombie threats.

Crafting And Obtaining

Most plants require a Garden Defense Pot as a base ingredient, combined with thematic materials (dyes, food items, ores, or other plants) at a crafting table. Upgraded plants generally require their base form plus additional materials.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Elemental status effects: Fire plants apply burning, Snow/Ice plants slow or freeze, Electric plants shock, Goo/Poison plants poison, and Shadow plants deal dark damage. Combine types to handle different enemies.
• Multi-shot and rapid-fire: Gatling variants (Gatling Pea, Mega Gatling Pea, OP Gatling Pea, Gatling Snow Pea) fire faster or in bursts.
• Area attacks: Gloom-shroom and Cabbage-pult hit multiple or distant targets.
• Blocking: Wall-nut variants absorb hits without attacking, buying time for your shooters.
• Traps: Potato Mine and Spikeweed damage enemies that walk over or near them.
• Explosives: Cherry Bomb, Snow TNT, Fire TNT, and Nuke deal heavy area damage on detonation.
• Sun economy: Sunflower-line plants generate the sun resource used to unlock and place higher-tier plants; upgrading sunflowers increases resource output.

Progression And Strategy

Start with cheap core plants (Peashooter, Sunflower, Wall-nut) to establish a basic defense line. As you gather more resources, craft upgraded and elemental variants for stronger offense (Gatling Pea line, Fire/Snow/Electric peas) and tougher defense (Tall-nut, Giant Wall-nut, Jugger-nut, Explode-o-nut). Save explosives like Cherry Bomb and TNT variants for emergency crowd control against large Garden Zombie waves. Keep an eye on Graves appearing near your base — they signal incoming threats — and reinforce those approach lanes with your strongest plants.
