Description
Cracked copper and copper furnaces oxidize over time; wax them to preserve their appearance.
Mod Wiki
Oxidized Copperworks
Quickstart
- Craft Cracked Copper from copper ingots, then place it as a decorative block or use it to craft a Copper Furnace.
- Try the furnace like a regular furnace: open it, add smeltable items and fuel, and let it work.
- Copper blocks and furnaces oxidize over time, changing appearance. To keep a block at its current stage, hold Honeycomb and use it on the block.
Overview
Oxidized Copperworks adds two copper block families: Cracked Copper and Copper Furnaces. Each can weather through four appearances, from the original copper color to fully oxidized. Waxing preserves the block’s current appearance.
What It Adds
| Family | Oxidation stages |
|---|---|
| Cracked Copper | Cracked, Exposed Cracked, Weathered Cracked, Oxidized Cracked |
| Copper Furnace | Copper, Exposed, Weathered, Oxidized |
Every stage has a waxed counterpart, such as Waxed Cracked Copper and Waxed Oxidized Copper Furnace.
How To Use
- Place and wait: Unwaxed blocks progress through their oxidation stages over time. Fully oxidized blocks do not progress further.
- Preserve a look: Use Honeycomb on an unwaxed block to wax it at its current stage. The Honeycomb is consumed outside Creative mode.
- Use the furnace: The Copper Furnace works like a regular furnace for smelting. Its facing and lit appearance carry over when it oxidizes or is waxed, and its contents and smelting progress are preserved.
- Mine blocks: Use a pickaxe; these blocks drop themselves.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft Cracked Copper from four Copper Ingots:

Use eight Cracked Copper around a Furnace to make a Copper Furnace:

The exposed, weathered, and oxidized variants are reached as unwaxed blocks age. Wax a block with Honeycomb to obtain the matching waxed stage.
Abilities And Mechanics
Oxidation is gradual and occurs through random ticks, so the exact time between stages can vary. Waxing stops further oxidation without changing the block’s current stage. A waxed block stays at that appearance.
Progression And Strategy
Choose whether you want copper to keep aging or to hold its current color. Wax blocks as soon as they reach the shade you want; let them continue aging for later stages. For a consistent build, wax blocks at the same stage before placing them together.
