Quickstart

Craft a Netherite Village Guardian Spawn Egg, then use it on the ground to summon a guardian:

Watch it patrol and engage nearby hostile mobs. You can also look for guardians spawning naturally on the ground near villages in the Overworld.

Overview

The Netherite Village Guardian is a fast, villager-like defender wearing netherite armor and carrying a netherite axe and shield. It wanders near villagers and fights threats rather than following player commands.

What It Adds

• The Netherite Village Guardian mob.
• A craftable Netherite Village Guardian Spawn Egg.

How To Use

Use the spawn egg on a block to place a guardian in the world. Guardians can also appear naturally near village homes or meeting places in the Overworld.

A guardian targets hostile mobs and players who have attacked villagers. If something attacks the guardian, it fights back.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Has 80 health (40 hearts) and deals heavy melee damage.
• Moves quickly and has strong resistance to knockback.
• Recovers 2 health every 2 seconds while injured.
• Does not naturally despawn.
• Its armor and weapons do not drop when it dies.

Progression And Strategy

Use the egg to add a defender where you want one, or explore around villages to find naturally spawned guardians. They can handle hostile mobs, but they are not invulnerable; give an injured guardian time to recover between fights.
