Netherite Village Guardian

Quickstart

Craft a Netherite Village Guardian spawn egg with , or find the egg in the Creative Spawn Eggs tab. Use the egg on the ground to summon a guardian; try placing one near villagers and watch it defend them.

A guardian may also appear automatically when a player is near at least five villagers and there isn’t already a guardian nearby.

Overview

The Netherite Village Guardian is a durable villager fighter equipped with full netherite armor, a netherite axe, and a shield. It protects villagers from monsters and targets players that have attacked villagers.

What It Adds

• Netherite Village Guardian: A persistent, fast-moving defender with 100 health.
• Spawn egg: Lets you summon a guardian wherever you choose.

How To Use

Use the spawn egg on a block to summon a guardian. It fights nearby monsters on its own and retaliates when attacked. It also targets players it identifies as having harmed a villager.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft one spawn egg from five netherite ingots, an egg, and blaze powder:

Guardians can also appear automatically near a player when the area has at least five villagers and no guardian is already present.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Heavy armor and equipment: Wears netherite armor, wields a netherite axe, and carries a shield.
• Strong melee attacks: Moves quickly to engage hostile monsters.
• Shield use: After being hurt, it uses its shield for about two seconds.
• Regeneration: While injured, it restores 2 health each second.
• Persistence: It is set to persist rather than despawn normally.

Progression And Strategy

For an automatic guardian, keep at least five villagers in a player’s nearby area and stay around long enough for the periodic check; it runs about once per minute. If you want protection somewhere specific or don’t want to wait, bring a spawn egg and summon the guardian there.
