- Equip the rapier in your main hand and attack any target. Keep landing hits to build Nether Star Flow and extend your Wither chain.
- Use the rapier to activate Acceleration, and press the sneak button to activate Armor-Piercing Stance.
- Watch the action bar while holding the rapier for damage, chain, Flow, cooldown, and duel information.
The Wither Star Stasis is limited to one usable copy per world. Once it is spent to craft the rapier, later copies are removed.
Overview
The Nether Star Rapier is an epic, single-stack weapon focused on continuous attacks and aggressive duels. It deals 10 base damage and rewards you for maintaining momentum:
- Repeated hits build a Wither chain.
- Every hit builds Nether Star Flow.
- Flow increases damage, grants Speed, heals you at milestones, and eventually triggers an area finisher.
- Two timed abilities provide extra movement and armor-piercing damage.
- Striking a weakened player can initiate a timed duel.
What It Adds
Nether Star Rapier
- Base damage: 10
- Maximum durability: 1,561
- Sword enchantment slot
- Epic rarity with a glint
- Cannot destroy blocks in Creative mode
- Can be repaired with nether stars or blaze rods
Wither Star Stasis
The Wither Star Stasis is the rapier’s unique catalyst. It is an epic, non-stackable item with a glint.
Only the first usable copy is retained in a world. Duplicate copies obtained through crafting or the Creative inventory are removed. The restriction remains in effect after the original stasis is used to craft the rapier.
How To Use
Hold the Nether Star Rapier in your main hand to activate its combat HUD and abilities.
Normal Attacks
Attack entities normally with the rapier. Each successful hit can:
- Apply Wither.
- Deal an additional 4 magic damage with an approximately 80% chance.
- Increase your Nether Star Flow.
- Increase your current attack damage through Flow.
- Progress toward healing, Speed, and the Flow finisher.
- Apply additional armor-piercing damage if Armor-Piercing Stance is active.
Acceleration
Use the rapier’s item-use button, such as right-click on supported controls, to activate Acceleration.
- Grants Speed III for 30 seconds.
- Has a 40-second cooldown starting when it is activated.
- Cannot be activated while already active or recharging.
Armor-Piercing Stance
Press the sneak button while holding the rapier to activate Armor-Piercing Stance.
- Lasts for 15 seconds.
- Has a 30-second cooldown starting when activated.
- Rapier hits during the stance remove an additional 5 health directly, bypassing armor.
- Begin sneaking again after the cooldown to reactivate it.
Rapier HUD
While the rapier is held, the action bar shows:
- DMG — current damage, including Flow and stance bonuses.
- W — Wither duration and current chain count.
- F — current Flow and its maximum of 30.
- AP — Armor-Piercing Stance status or cooldown.
- ACC — Acceleration status or cooldown.
- DUEL — remaining time when you are in a duel.
Crafting And Obtaining
Craft the Wither Star Stasis first:
Then combine it with an end rod and a blaze rod to make the Nether Star Rapier:
The Wither Star Stasis is bound to the world when its first copy becomes available. Preserve it until you are ready to craft the rapier, because it cannot be replaced after being spent.
The rapier can also be obtained from the Creative inventory. Its normal crafting recipe still consumes the world’s unique Wither Star Stasis.
Repairing
Repair the rapier with:
- A nether star, restoring 25% of its maximum durability.
- A blaze rod, restoring 10% of its maximum durability.
Abilities And Mechanics
Wither Chain
Each hit applies Wither to the target. Hitting again within 8 seconds increases the chain count, up to 30.
The Wither duration is:
- 3 seconds on a fresh chain
- 3 seconds plus the current chain count on continued hits
- Up to 33 seconds at the maximum chain count
If you go more than 8 seconds without hitting, the chain resets.
Nether Star Flow
Every successful hit adds one Flow, up to 30. Flow resets after 20 seconds without a hit.
Flow provides the following bonuses:
| Flow | Effect |
|---|
| 1–4 | Builds momentum |
| 5–9 | +1 damage; each multiple of 5 also restores health |
| 10–14 | +2 damage and Speed I |
| 15–19 | +3 damage; each multiple of 5 also restores health |
| 20–24 | +4 damage and Speed II |
| 25–29 | +5 damage; each multiple of 5 also restores health |
| 30 | +6 damage and Speed III |
The Speed effect is refreshed while you continue hitting targets. Reaching 30 Flow triggers the Nether Star Flow Finisher:
- Deals 6 magic damage to nearby living entities within 5 blocks.
- Does not damage you.
- Resets Flow to 0 after the burst.
The finisher can hit multiple nearby enemies, so building Flow in a group fight can turn the final strike into an area attack.
Duel Encounters
Hitting another player can start a duel when:
- Both players are still alive.
- At least one of the two players has 10 health or less, equal to five hearts.
- Neither player is already in a duel.
A duel lasts 20 seconds. The opponent must be defeated before the timer expires.
- Defeating the opponent wins the duel and grants the surviving player Strength II for 30 seconds.
- If neither player wins before time runs out, both players receive Poison I for 4 seconds.
- A lethal hit resolves normally rather than starting a duel.
Progression And Strategy
- Craft the Wither Star Stasis as soon as you have the required materials, but avoid wasting it before you can make the rapier.
- Keep attacking within the 8-second chain window to maintain long Wither applications.
- Use groups of weaker enemies to build Flow safely before engaging a stronger target.
- Save the Flow finisher for clustered enemies when possible.
- Activate Acceleration before a chase, escape, or sustained fight rather than after you need the speed.
- Trigger Armor-Piercing Stance against armored targets or weakened players to make its direct damage count.
- During a duel, keep pressure on the opponent: stalling for 20 seconds poisons both combatants.
- Repair with blaze rods for routine maintenance and reserve nether stars for larger repairs.
