Description
The Nether Star Rapier is an epic-tier melee weapon built for players who like fast, sustained combat. Instead of relying on single big hits, it rewards you for staying aggressive: each hit that connects while you keep the pressure on chains into the next, applying a growing Wither effect and accelerating your movement speed the longer the fight goes on. It also carries a few special combat techniques you can trigger manually, and a unique "duel" showdown that activates against tough, nearly-defeated foes.
The rapier is crafted at a crafting table using nether stars and a blaze rod.


Because it consumes nether stars, treat this as an end-game weapon — you'll want to make one deliberately once you have spare nether stars from defeating the Wither.
Chained Hits & Wither Stacking Every time you land a hit with the rapier within a short window of your last hit, the Wither effect duration you apply increases. The very first hit in a fresh combo applies a brief Wither; each hit that follows in the same chain extends how long the Wither lasts. If you go too long (a few seconds) without landing another hit, the chain resets and you have to build it back up from the start.
Nether Star Flow (Speed Ramp) Landing consecutive hits with the rapier builds up a flowing momentum. The more hits you land in a row, the faster you move, climbing toward a maximum Speed boost the longer you sustain the combo. If you go roughly 20 seconds without landing a rapier hit, this flow resets and you'll need to start building speed again from your next connecting blow. Keep swinging to stay fast — this rewards constant, uninterrupted aggression rather than single strikes.
Armor-Piercing Stance Sneaking with the rapier equipped triggers a temporary stance that helps you punch through armored opponents. This stance lasts for a limited time and then goes on cooldown before you can use it again.
Acceleration Burst The rapier has a secondary timed ability that grants a burst of extra speed for a sustained period. Like the stance, it has its own cooldown separate from the sneak ability, so you can plan when to use each one during a fight.
Bonus Magic Damage Hits with the rapier have a high chance to deal a small amount of extra magic damage on top of its normal damage, making sustained combos hit noticeably harder over time.
Duel Encounters If you strike an enemy down to roughly 5 hearts of health or less, you can trigger a duel state. During a duel, you and your target are locked into a tense confrontation for several minutes. Win the duel and you're granted a temporary Strength boost as your reward. If the duel drags on too long without a resolution, it times out and afflicts the loser with Poison instead — so it pays to press your advantage and finish the fight quickly rather than dragging it out.
