Neonwild Expanse
Quickstart
- Load a world with the Neonwild Expanse add-on applied.
- Run the command
/locate biome neonwild_expanse_wq3rdl6t:neonwild_expanse to find the nearest biome.
- Teleport there and step into the electric-blue wilderness.
- Break glowing plants and crystals by hand or with the appropriate tool to collect them as drop items.
- Open the Creative inventory under the Nature category to find all six custom blocks instantly.
Overview
The Neonwild Expanse replaces forested areas of the overworld with a sweeping bioluminescent wilderness. Midnight-blue skies hang overhead, sapphire-tinted rivers wind through the terrain, and aurora ribbons shimmer across the horizon. Every plant, tree, and crystal formation radiates its own soft glow, turning the landscape into a living light show even on the darkest nights.
Three signature landmarks define the biome:
| Landmark | Description |
|---|
| Luminous Basin | A glowing hollow ringed with neon flora and crystal formations |
| Crystalfall Canyon | A dramatic gorge carved by azure crystal-clear waterfalls |
| Neon Sea | A broad expanse of sapphire water bordered by glowing shores |
What It Adds

| Neonwild Bloom | 11 | Any (breaks instantly) |
| Azure Energy Crystal | 15 | Pickaxe |
All six blocks emit constant light and are available as placeable items, making them excellent decorative building materials.
Biome Features
- Azure Canopy Trees — Tall trees with Cyan Luminous Log trunks and Sapphire Leaves canopies that glow in the dark.
- Giant Glow Mushrooms — Oversized mushrooms scattered across the forest floor.
- Neon Flower Fields — Dense patches of Neonwild Bloom that carpet open clearings.
- Crystal Rivers & Waterfalls — Waterways edged with Azure Energy Crystal clusters.
- Floating Azure Crystal Formations — Suspended crystal structures hovering above the terrain.
- Drifting light particles, glowing fog, and aurora ribbons — Ambient visual effects that fill the sky and air.
How To Use
Exploring the Biome
The biome generates naturally in place of forest biomes. To find one quickly, run:
/locate biome neonwild_expanse_wq3rdl6t:neonwild_expanse
Then teleport to the returned coordinates. The electric-blue glow is visible from a distance, making navigation intuitive once you are nearby.
Harvesting Blocks
All custom blocks drop themselves when broken, so you can collect them and bring them back to your base:
- Neon Grass — Use a shovel for fastest mining (~0.6 s).
- Cyan Luminous Log — Use an axe (~2.0 s).
- Sapphire Leaves, Giant Glow Mushroom, Neonwild Bloom — Break instantly with any tool.
- Azure Energy Crystal — Use a pickaxe (~1.5 s); has moderate explosion resistance.
Building with Glowing Materials
Because every block emits light, you can use harvested Neonwild materials as functional light sources in your builds. The Azure Energy Crystal is the brightest (light level 15), matching a torch, while Neon Grass provides a subtle ambient glow (level 7). Mix and match for gradient lighting effects.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Persistent Glow — All six custom blocks emit light unconditionally; they do not require power or activation.
- Natural Generation — The biome spawns as an overworld forest replacement, so it appears in normal world generation without any commands.
- Creative Access — All blocks appear in the Creative inventory under the Nature category, letting builders use them without needing to locate the biome.
- Survival Harvestable — Every block drops itself without requiring Silk Touch, making resource gathering straightforward in Survival mode.
Progression And Strategy
- Early game: Use
/locate to find the biome, then harvest a stack each of Neonwild Bloom and Giant Glow Mushroom for instant, free light sources back at your base.
- Mid game: Mine Cyan Luminous Logs for structural glowing wood and Sapphire Leaves for decorative canopy blocks.
- Late game: Farm Azure Energy Crystal with a pickaxe for maximum-brightness light sources and striking architectural features. Its moderate explosion resistance (6.0) also makes it a reasonable decorative choice in defended builds.
- Landmark hunting: Each of the three landmarks—Luminous Basin, Crystalfall Canyon, and the Neon Sea—offers concentrated clusters of crystals and rare flora. Prioritise exploring canyon walls for dense Azure Energy Crystal veins.
