Molten Forge

Quickstart

1. Find a Lava Walker — these fire-immune mobs spawn naturally in the Nether, badlands, and near desert pyramids. Kill it to collect Lava Ingots.
2. Craft a Lava Ingot at a crafting table if you'd rather not hunt first — combine an Iron Ingot, Magma Cream, Blaze Powder, and Coal (shapeless).
3. Craft a Lava Core using Lava Ingots, Lava Buckets, and a Blaze Rod.
4. Use Lava Ingots and Lava Cores to craft the full Lava Armor set and Lava Tools.
5. Equip all four armor pieces to unlock the full set bonuses: Fire Resistance, Strength, and Haste.

In Creative mode, find all items and spawn eggs under the Molten Forge creative tab.

Overview

Molten Forge introduces a fiery progression loop built around two new hostile mobs. Hunt them in hot biomes, collect their rare drops, and forge powerful lava-infused gear that burns your enemies and protects you from fire.

What It Adds

Both mobs are fully immune to fire and lava.

Materials

• Lava Ingot — the base crafting material, dropped by both mobs or crafted directly.
• Lava Core — a rarer material needed for all gear, dropped more reliably from Lava Brutes.

Abilities And Mechanics

Lava Armor Set Bonuses

Wearing all four pieces together grants:

• 🔥 Fire Resistance — immune to fire and lava damage
• ⚔️ Strength — increased melee damage
• ⛏️ Haste — faster mining speed

Each piece contributes to the set; partial sets do not grant bonuses.

Lava Tools

All Lava Tools are fire-resistant (they won't burn if dropped in lava). When you hit a mob with any Lava Tool, it ignites the target for several seconds. There is also a small chance for a flame visual effect when mining blocks.

Progression And Strategy

1. Early game: Gather Blaze Powder, Magma Cream, Iron Ingots, and Coal to craft your first Lava Ingots without needing mob drops. This lets you skip the risky early hunting phase.
2. Craft a Lava Core once you have Lava Ingots, Lava Buckets, and a Blaze Rod — this unlocks all gear recipes.
3. Hunt Lava Walkers for a steady supply of Lava Ingots (1–2 per kill). They are the easier target.
4. Hunt Lava Brutes for Lava Cores — they drop 2–4 Lava Ingots and guarantee at least 1 Lava Core per player kill (35% chance for 2). Beware: they hit hard, launch you into the air, and can break down doors.
5. Complete the armor set as your priority — the Fire Resistance bonus alone makes further Nether farming dramatically safer.
6. Equip Lava Tools for combat to keep mobs burning while you whittle them down.
