Description
Molten Edge is a powerful axe-style weapon that deals 10 damage per hit and now uses netherite-tier durability (2031), reliably losing only 1 durability each time you hit a mob; left-click to attack normally — strikes have a chance to ignite the target (or yourself), and when your health is low the axe grants Regeneration plus Strength and Speed boosts that scale with your missing HP. Right-click to unleash a Molten Roar that knocks back and ignites nearby enemies, grants you Resistance and Onslaught with duration based on how many enemies are hit, plays a sound on activation, and has a cooldown; the roar no longer displays action bar or HUD messages when activated or while cooling down.

Molten Edge
Quickstart
- Gather the crafting materials: a Netherite Axe, Netherite Scrap, Blaze Powder (×4), a Snout Armor Trim Smithing Template, a Breeze Rod, and Fire Charges (×2).
- Craft the Molten Edge at a Crafting Table:

- Equip it in your main hand.
- Left-click to attack — hits deal 10 damage and may ignite enemies.
- Right-click to unleash the Molten Roar, blasting nearby enemies back and setting them alight.
Overview
The Molten Edge is an epic-rarity axe-type weapon forged from netherite and nether fire. It hits hard, burns enemies, and fights back harder the closer you are to death — making it a high-risk, high-reward weapon for players who like to live dangerously in the thick of combat.
What It Adds
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Damage per hit | 10 |
| Durability | 2031 (netherite-tier) |
| Rarity | Epic |
| Enchantability | Sword slot (value 10) |
How To Use
Left-Click — Basic Attack
Every swing deals 10 damage. Each hit has a chance to ignite the target — but watch out, there is also a small chance (10%) to ignite yourself in the process. Use carefully in tight spaces.
Right-Click — Molten Roar
Activating the Molten Roar blasts all enemies within 6 blocks away from you with knockback and sets them on fire. You also receive:
- Resistance — reduces incoming damage.
- Onslaught — a combat buff tracked internally.
Both effects last longer the more enemies you catch in the roar — a base duration plus a bonus for each enemy hit. The Molten Roar has an 8-second cooldown between uses.
Abilities And Mechanics
Passive — Adrenaline Surge
While holding the Molten Edge, your health is monitored continuously. When you drop to 40% HP or below, the axe begins fighting for your survival:
| Effect | Scales With |
|---|---|
| Regeneration | Amplifier increases as HP drops further (up to Regen III near death) |
| Strength | Amplifier 0–3, rising as HP falls |
| Speed | Amplifier 0–2, rising as HP falls |
The lower your health, the stronger these boosts become. At critically low HP you will be healing, hitting harder, and moving faster all at once.
Molten Roar — Detail
- Radius: 6 blocks around you.
- Knockback: Enemies are launched outward and upward.
- Ignite: All enemies caught in the roar are set on fire.
- Buff duration: Starts at a base and gains extra time per enemy hit — the more crowded the fight, the longer your buffs last.
- Cooldown: 8 seconds between uses.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Molten Edge is crafted at a Crafting Table once you have a Netherite Axe in your inventory (the recipe unlocks automatically when you pick one up).
Repairing
The Molten Edge can be repaired using:
| Material | Durability Restored |
|---|---|
| Netherite Ingot | 390 |
| Blaze Rod | 195 |
Repairs can be done in an Anvil. The weapon can also be enchanted in the Sword enchantment category.
Progression And Strategy
- Early use: The axe's 10 damage output is exceptional, but the self-ignite risk means you want some Fire Resistance handy if available.
- Low-HP synergy: Don't panic when your health drops — the passive bonuses kick in and can turn the tide. Letting yourself stay at low HP is a valid (if risky) combat tactic.
- Molten Roar timing: Use the Roar when surrounded. More enemies caught = longer Resistance and Onslaught buffs, giving you more survivability for the fight ahead.
- Cooldown management: The 8-second Roar cooldown means you can't spam it. Save it for large groups or emergencies.
- Durability: With 2031 durability and a guaranteed single point of loss per hit, the Molten Edge will last a very long time. Keep a Netherite Ingot on hand for occasional top-ups at an Anvil.
