Description
The Mob Capsule is a handheld device that lets you capture and store any living mob (except other players) for later release. Right-click directly on a mob to capture it inside the capsule -- the mob disappears from the world, and the capsule gains a shimmering enchantment glint to show it is filled. To release the captured mob, right-click on a block to spawn it at that location, or right-click in the air to release it a short distance in front of you, with all of its original health, name, equipment, and data fully intact.
Mod Wiki
Mob Capsule
Quickstart
- Craft a Mob Capsule using the recipe below and place it in your hotbar.
- Walk up to any mob (hostile, passive, or neutral — but not another player) and right-click it to capture it. The mob vanishes and the capsule gains an enchantment glint to show it is loaded.
- To release the mob, right-click on a block to spawn it on that surface, or right-click in the air to release it about 2 blocks in front of you.
- The mob returns exactly as it was — same health, name, equipment, and all data intact.

Overview
The Mob Capsule is a single-use-per-mob handheld tool that lets you pick up any living creature and carry it with you. It stores one mob at a time and can be used indefinitely — capture, release, capture again as many times as you like. The item is found in the Tools & Utilities creative tab.

| Mob Capsule | Reusable capture device; holds one mob at a time |
How To Use
Capturing a Mob
- Hold the Mob Capsule and right-click directly on any living mob (animals, monsters, villagers, etc.).
- Players cannot be captured.
- A teleport sound plays and the mob is removed from the world.
- The capsule gains a shimmering glint — this is your visual indicator that it is filled.
- An empty capsule does nothing when right-clicked on a mob; it must be empty to capture.
Releasing a Mob
- Right-click on a block surface — the mob spawns on the face of that block.
- Right-click in the air (no block targeted) — the mob spawns roughly 2 blocks ahead of where you are looking.
- A sound plays on release and the capsule returns to its empty (no-glint) state.
- All mob data is fully restored: health, custom name, held items, armor, tamed status, and any other attributes.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Mob Capsule recipe is unlocked automatically when you join a world.
The recipe requires Iron Ingots, Glass Panes, Slime Balls, and an Ender Pearl arranged in a shaped pattern.
Abilities And Mechanics
- One mob at a time — a filled capsule ignores right-clicks on other mobs until it is emptied.
- Data integrity — the captured mob is saved in full; nothing is lost between capture and release.
- No stacking — each Mob Capsule occupies its own inventory slot and cannot be stacked.
- Glint indicator — the enchantment shimmer provides an at-a-glance way to tell filled capsules from empty ones, even inside containers.
Progression And Strategy
- Use the Mob Capsule to relocate livestock to a new base without building a lead trail across the map.
- Capture rare or named mobs (a named villager with good trades, a jockey, etc.) to transport them safely.
- Safely move hostile mobs for farm construction — capture a mob in a safe location and release it inside your farm's kill chamber.
- Keep a spare empty capsule handy; a filled capsule cannot capture a second mob until the first is released.
