Quickstart

1. Craft an Aether Wayfinder at a crafting table using the recipe below.
2. Hold the Wayfinder and use it to open the travel menu. Choose Enter The Aether to travel.
3. Explore the highland terrain. Use the Wayfinder again while in The Aether and choose Return home to go back to the Overworld.

Overview

The Aether is a separate sky realm with rolling uplands, steep ridges, and occasional floating islands. Its two regions—Celestial Uplands and Cloudspires—have distinct terrain and decorations.

What It Adds

• Aether Wayfinder: A reusable item for entering The Aether and returning home.
• Aether blocks: Aether Cloudgrass, Aether Cloudloam, Aether Skyrock, and Aether Cloudsand.
• Distinct landscapes: Groves, high canopies, and floating islands appear among the uplands and spires. Region names appear as you cross into them.

How To Use

• Use the Wayfinder from either dimension to open its travel menu. Select the travel option to proceed, or Cancel to stay where you are.
• Explore carefully: the terrain includes steep ridges and elevated islands.
• Mine Aether Cloudgrass, Aether Cloudloam, and Aether Cloudsand with a shovel; use a pickaxe for Aether Skyrock.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Wayfinder at a crafting table with a feather, two phantom membranes, an ender pearl, and a gold ingot. Aether blocks are found in The Aether.

Progression And Strategy

Gather the Wayfinder’s ingredients in the Overworld before setting out. Bring supplies for navigating uneven high ground, and use the Wayfinder’s return option whenever you want to head home.
