Midnight Torch Granny

Quickstart

• Trigger the encounter: Sleep in a bed. A Midnight Stalker appears above the bed and targets you.
• Try it in Creative: Find the Midnight Stalker Spawn Egg in the Spawn Eggs tab and use it on a block. You can also use /give @s midnight-torch-granny-6a4fg3fr:midnight_torch_granny_spawn_egg or /summon midnight-torch-granny-6a4fg3fr:midnight_torch_granny.
• Once it is after you, watch your nearby torches and avoid letting it land a hit: its attack leaves a non-Creative player at half a heart.

Overview

The Midnight Stalker is a hostile grandmother-like mob that appears when you start sleeping. It pursues its chosen player, destroys nearby torches, and can leave that player barely alive.

What It Adds

• Midnight Stalker: A hostile mob with 32 health (16 hearts).
• Midnight Stalker Spawn Egg: A Creative-mode way to spawn the mob.

How To Use

Sleeping in a bed triggers the encounter automatically; there is no separate item or interaction required. The Stalker appears above the bed and targets the sleeper. A live Stalker already targeting you nearby may prevent another from appearing when you sleep again.

Use the spawn egg on a block to place a Stalker where you want one. The spawn egg is also listed under the entity ID midnight-torch-granny-6a4fg3fr:midnight_torch_granny.

Abilities And Mechanics

• The Stalker checks for nearby regular torches, wall torches, soul torches, and soul wall torches about once per second. It breaks the closest one within roughly two blocks and drops it.
• When its attack hits a player above half a heart, it reduces that player to half a heart rather than killing them outright.
• Creative and spectator players are not affected by its attacks.

Progression And Strategy

Keep vulnerable torches out of its immediate reach, or use other light sources nearby. If you encounter it, prioritize getting out of its reach; a single hit can leave you at half a heart.
