Description

In Creative mode, Midas's Crown is available in the Combat item group. You can also obtain it with:
/give @s midas-crown-h63xuzwi:midas_crown_h63xuzwi
Midas's Crown is a cursed helmet that grants the Curse of the Golden Touch. While worn, it continuously transforms nearby blocks, mobs, and dropped item stacks into gold.
The crown has a permanent enchantment glint and occupies the helmet slot. Its tooltip reads:
All that is near shall turn to gold...
Hold Midas's Crown and use it while your head slot is empty. The crown moves from your hand to your helmet slot. If you are already wearing a helmet or another head item, using the crown does not replace it.
The Golden Touch begins as soon as the crown is equipped. There is no separate activation key or toggle.
The effect activates automatically about four times per second.
Remove the crown to prevent further transformations.
The crown is crafted from seven gold blocks and one nether star:
The recipe is unlocked when you enter a world. Midas's Crown can also be obtained from the Creative inventory or with its /give command.
Nearby non-air blocks are replaced with gold blocks. Gold blocks and bedrock are left unchanged, as are blocks that cannot be broken normally.
The original blocks are replaced directly rather than mined, so the Golden Touch can destroy the terrain and any block contents in its area. Use it carefully around builds, farms, storage, and redstone.
Nearby mobs are removed and replaced by gold blocks at their location. Mobs taller than one block also create a gold block above the first one.
This affects mobs automatically when they enter the crown's range; no attack or interaction is required.
Living entities that are not players or standard mobs are also removed and replaced with gold blocks.
Dropped item entities within range are converted into gold ingots. The number of ingots matches the original dropped stack count.
Dropped gold ingots remain gold ingots. Items in inventories, chests, barrels, and other storage are not affected until they are dropped into the world.
The wearer is not affected by their own Golden Touch. Other players within range are enclosed by gold blocks at their feet and head and take suffocation damage repeatedly while they remain nearby.
Be especially careful when using the crown in multiplayer or around allies.
