Mace Ascension

Quickstart

• On joining without an Ascension weapon, you receive a Wooden Mace and Wooden Spear.
• Equip one and defeat mobs with it. Kills count toward upgrading the weapon used; the next tier replaces it automatically.
• Use the mace like a normal melee weapon. With the spear, left-click to jab; hold right-click for at least 8 ticks, then release to charge a forward strike and lunge.
• Try jumping again while airborne once you reach Stone: Ascension weapons unlock a double jump.
• In Creative, find all tiers in the Combat tab.

Overview

Mace Ascension has two separate kill-to-upgrade weapon paths: maces and spears. Each starts at Wooden and progresses through nine increasingly powerful tiers. Your mace and spear track kills independently.

What It Adds

How To Use

Maces are melee weapons. Successful hits can refresh short-lived combat effects, and higher tiers can call lightning down on the target.

Spears can jab with a normal attack or perform a charged attack:

1. Aim toward a living target that is not allied with you.
2. Hold right-click for at least 8 ticks.
3. Release to attack the nearest target in front of you and lunge forward.

The charged attack reaches farther at higher tiers. Longer charges increase the lunge up to a cap; using it also triggers a short cooldown.

Crafting And Obtaining

Your starting weapons are supplied automatically when you join without an Ascension mace or spear. In survival, kills are how you advance; the available items have no listed crafting recipes. Creative players can select every tier from the Combat tab.

Abilities And Mechanics

Your highest-tier Ascension weapon in your inventory determines your passive tier abilities; you do not need to hold it. Mace and spear hits also apply their tier’s on-hit effects.

• Stone and above: Double-jump by pressing jump again while airborne. Touch the ground to reset it. Speed is also applied periodically.
• Iron and above: Gain periodic Strength and immunity to fall and lightning damage. Weapon hits have a chance to summon lightning, increasing with tier until it is guaranteed at God.
• Diamond and above: Gain Resistance and extra maximum health. The health bonus is 4, 8, 20, 28, and 40 health points at Diamond, Netherite, God, Ultra, and OP respectively.
• God and above: Gain periodic Regeneration.
• OP: Weapon hits also heal you by 2 health points.

Tier upgrades automatically grant enchantments:

• Maces: Unbreaking begins at Stone, Density at Coal, Breach at Iron, Fire Aspect II at Copper, Mending at Diamond, and Wind Burst at Netherite. These enchantments strengthen further at the top tiers.
• Spears: Unbreaking and Lunge begin at Stone; Sharpness at Coal; Knockback at Iron; Fire Aspect II at Copper; and Mending at Diamond. Lunge reaches III at God, and Sharpness reaches V at Ultra.

Progression And Strategy

Each kill with a weapon advances that weapon by 5 + 3 × its current tier kills. Progress and upgrade messages appear on screen.

Keep your higher-tier weapon in your inventory to benefit from its passive abilities, and use that weapon to build its own kill progress. Dying while carrying an Ascension weapon resets your Ascension equipment: you respawn with Wooden versions of both the mace and spear.
