Quickstart

1. Craft the Ironstorm Rifle at a crafting table using the recipe below.
2. Hold it in your main hand and aim at any living enemy within 25 blocks.
3. Right-click to fire — the shot is instant, no projectile to lead.
4. Wait the brief 0.75-second cooldown, then fire again.

Overview

The Ironstorm Rifle is a high-powered hitscan ranged weapon. Unlike bows or crossbows, it has zero projectile travel time — the moment you right-click, the closest living entity in your line of sight takes damage instantly. It sits in the Combat item group and comes with an enchantment glint, signalling its exceptional power.

What It Adds

How To Use

• Firing: Right-click while holding the rifle. A firework-blast sound plays and the nearest living entity in your crosshair (up to 25 blocks away) is struck immediately.
• Hitscan targeting: The rifle automatically picks the closest valid target along your line of sight, so precise aiming matters more than timing.
• Cooldown: After each shot a 0.75-second cooldown applies before you can fire again. The cooldown indicator appears on the item in your hotbar.
• Durability: Each shot consumes 1 durability. The rifle breaks after 256 shots, so keep an eye on the durability bar.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Instant hit: Damage is applied the moment you right-click — there is no travel time and shots cannot be dodged by moving.
• Closest-target priority: If multiple enemies overlap in your view, the rifle always strikes the one nearest to you.
• Damage type: Hits count as player-attack damage, triggering the same reactions (knockback, aggro, etc.) as a melee hit.
• Sound feedback: The blast sound plays on both client and server side, giving immediate audio confirmation of each shot.
• Tooltip: Hovering over the rifle shows its damage (21), range (25 blocks), and firing instruction as a quick in-game reminder.

Progression And Strategy

• 21 damage per shot is extremely high — most mobs are defeated in one or two hits.
• The 256-durability cap means you get exactly 256 shots per rifle; craft spares before heading into long expeditions.
• Use the 25-block range to engage enemies before they can close in for melee, then retreat to reset the cooldown safely.
• The rifle cannot repair itself passively; use an anvil with iron ingots or combine two damaged rifles in a crafting grid to restore durability.
• Because shots are hitscan, the rifle excels against fast-moving targets like phantoms or players in PvP where leading a projectile would be difficult.
