Quickstart

1. Craft the Iron Pistol at a crafting table using the recipe below.
2. Hold it in your hand and right-click to fire a bullet.
3. Aim at mobs or players — each bullet deals 10 damage on hit.
4. Wait out the short half-second cooldown, then fire again.

Overview

The Iron Pistol is a handheld ranged weapon that lets you shoot fast-moving bullet projectiles at enemies from a distance. It is a single-item mod focused on giving players a straightforward firearm-style combat option without requiring ammunition.

What It Adds

How To Use

• Fire: Right-click (use) while holding the Iron Pistol in either hand to shoot a bullet in the direction you are looking.
• Cooldown: After each shot, the pistol enters a 0.5-second (10-tick) cooldown before it can be fired again. The cooldown indicator appears on the item in your hotbar.
• On hit – entity: The bullet deals 10 damage (5 hearts) to any entity it strikes, then disappears.
• On hit – block: The bullet disappears on contact with any block.
• Sound: Each shot plays a sharp blast sound so you (and nearby players) can hear when the pistol is fired.

Abilities And Mechanics

• No ammunition required — the Iron Pistol fires indefinitely as long as the cooldown has expired.
• Fast projectile — bullets travel quickly, making them effective at short-to-medium range.
• Max stack size of 1 — the pistol cannot be stacked; carry it like any other tool or weapon.

Progression And Strategy

• The Iron Pistol is craftable early on with common materials (iron ingots, gunpowder, redstone, and a stick), making it accessible soon after entering the Nether for gunpowder.
• At 10 damage per shot, a single bullet can one-shot many common mobs and significantly dent tougher ones.
• The half-second cooldown rewards careful aim — missing a shot against a fast mob leaves you briefly vulnerable, so take steady shots rather than spam-clicking.
• Pair the pistol with melee weapons for a hit-and-run style: shoot once to weaken an enemy, then close in with your sword to finish the fight.
