Description:
.mcaddon file — it applies both a behavior pack and resource pack automatically to your world./locate biome infernal_wastes to find the nearest Infernal Wastes region. It generates in place of mountainous, mesa, and desert terrain, so head in the indicated direction.Infernal Overworld replaces select overworld biomes with Infernal Wastes — a surface that looks and feels like the Nether has erupted through the ground. Volcanic mountain ranges, basalt sky-pillars, obsidian spike clusters, blackstone islands suspended above lava pools, glowing magma rivers, and enormous twisted crimson trees all coexist under a blood-red sky filled with falling ash and a heat-shimmer haze. There are no mobs, villages, or settlements here — just raw, hostile terrain built for exploration, resource gathering, and dramatic base-building.

The Infernal Wastes generates where mountainous terrain, mesas, and deserts would normally appear. The fastest way to locate it is:
/locate biome infernal_wastes
This returns coordinates you can travel to or teleport toward. If your spawn region is flat plains, you may need to travel a fair distance.
The biome is rich in Nether-themed building and crafting materials obtainable directly from terrain features:
| Resource | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Blackstone | Suspended islands, ground deposits |
| Basalt | Sky-pillars, volcanic slopes |
| Netherrack | Volcanic mountain cores |
| Obsidian | Spike clusters |
| Magma blocks | Magma rivers, geyser areas |
Use a pickaxe (iron or better for obsidian) to harvest these blocks in bulk. The biome is ideal for stockpiling Nether building materials without ever entering the Nether.
The resource pack applies custom visuals exclusively within the Infernal Wastes:
These effects are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay mechanics, but they dramatically reinforce the infernal theme.
The biome generates with no villages, structures, wandering traders, or mob spawns of any kind. This is by design — Infernal Wastes is meant to feel abandoned and apocalyptic, giving you complete creative freedom when carving out bases.
Early game: Use /locate biome infernal_wastes immediately after world creation. Travel to the biome's edge to safely gather basalt and blackstone before venturing toward the lava-heavy interior.
Mid game: Stock up on fire resistance potions brewed in your home base, then push into the volcanic core and suspended island zones for bulk obsidian and magma block harvesting.
Base building: The dramatic vertical terrain — sky-pillars, spike clusters, floating islands — makes the Infernal Wastes one of the most visually striking places to build a base. Carve into a basalt pillar, bridge between floating blackstone islands, or hollow out an obsidian spike for a fortress that looks like it belongs in the Nether itself.
Resource loop: Since the biome provides blackstone, basalt, netherrack, obsidian, and magma blocks in abundance on the surface, you can use these materials to construct Nether-style infrastructure — nether brick smelting, respawn anchors, and more — without ever descending to the Nether.
