Quickstart

1. Open your inventory and craft the Hunter Rifle using iron ingots, a stick, and a tripwire hook (see recipe below).
2. Hold the rifle in your hand.
3. Right-click to fire — a bullet shoots straight ahead in the direction you're looking.
4. Wait 1 second for the bolt-action reload before firing again.

Overview

The Hunter Rifle is a powerful ranged weapon that fires fast-moving bullet projectiles. It is designed around a bolt-action firing style — each shot is strong and precise, but you must wait briefly between shots. It fits naturally into combat situations where a single well-placed hit can turn the tide.

What It Adds

How To Use

• Fire: Right-click while holding the Hunter Rifle to shoot a bullet in the direction you are facing.
• Cooldown: After each shot, a 1-second bolt-action cooldown applies. The item will visually grey out during this time, just like other cooldown items in Minecraft. You cannot fire again until the cooldown ends.
• Aiming: Bullets travel in the exact direction of your crosshair, so aim carefully before shooting.
• Durability: The Hunter Rifle has 256 durability and is consumed with use. Keep an eye on the durability bar and craft a replacement before it breaks.

Crafting And Obtaining

The Hunter Rifle is crafted at a crafting table. The recipe is unlocked as soon as you join a world.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Damage: Each bullet deals 25 damage (12.5 hearts) to any entity it hits — enough to one-shot most common mobs and deal heavy damage to players or bosses.
• Projectile behavior: The bullet travels at high speed and disappears the moment it strikes an entity or a block. There is no piercing or splash — one bullet, one target.
• Fire sound: A distinct firing sound plays each time you shoot, giving clear audio feedback.
• Stackability: The Hunter Rifle does not stack; only one can be held in a single inventory slot.

Progression And Strategy

• Early combat: The rifle's 25-damage hit makes it an excellent tool for quickly eliminating dangerous mobs from a safe distance before they can reach you.
• Boss fights: A single shot deals massive damage, making the Hunter Rifle especially valuable against high-health enemies like the Wither or Elden Dragon.
• Cooldown management: Plan your shots — the 1-second reload window leaves you vulnerable, so pair the rifle with a melee weapon for close-quarters defence between shots.
• Durability: With 256 uses, the rifle lasts a reasonable amount of time, but keep materials on hand to craft a new one when it wears out.
