Quickstart

In Creative Mode, take a Holy Crusader Spawn Egg from the Spawn Eggs tab and use it on the ground to summon a crusader. Try it at night near undead mobs and watch it fight. You can also take a Holy Book from the Combat tab; hold it and use it while injured to restore health.

In Survival, look for crusaders outdoors at night in dark areas. Defeating one has a small chance to drop a Holy Book.

Overview

Holy Nightwardens adds sword-wielding Holy Crusaders that hunt undead, plus Holy Books that heal the player. Crusaders can appear naturally at night in any biome, or be summoned with a spawn egg.

What It Adds

How To Use

• Spawn a crusader: Use a Holy Crusader Spawn Egg on the ground.
• Use a Holy Book: Hold it and use it. It heals 8 health points (4 hearts), has a 5-second cooldown, and cannot be used at full health. The book is not consumed.
• Find crusaders naturally: They spawn on the ground between 13,000 and 22,999 in-game time when the light level is 7 or lower.
• Watch for retaliation: Hostile mobs target crusaders, and a crusader will target a player who attacks it.

Crafting And Obtaining

• Holy Crusaders spawn naturally at night in dark areas, and can also be summoned with their spawn egg.
• A defeated Holy Crusader has a 3% chance to drop a Holy Book.
• In Creative Mode, the spawn egg is in the Spawn Eggs tab and the Holy Book is in the Combat tab.

Abilities And Mechanics

Holy Crusaders have 32 health (16 hearts), 6 armor, and deal 5 attack damage with their iron swords. Their target is undead mobs; other hostile mobs may also attack them.

Holy Books restore up to 4 hearts per use. Wait for the cooldown before using one again.

Progression And Strategy

Let a crusader engage undead while you keep an eye out for other hostile mobs drawn to the fight. If you’re hunting for a Holy Book, defeating crusaders can yield one, but the drop is uncommon. Save the book for when you’ve lost health, since it cannot be used at full health.
