Description
Chorus Foods turns the humble chorus fruit into an entire cuisine and questline. Under the guidance of Sage Elowen, you cook End-touched meals, brew potent potions, forge End-forged weapons, and befriend or battle wandering dragons that emerge from corrupted "bleed" pockets spreading out of the End and Nether. Villages become contested ground, protected by loyal dragons or terrorized by hostile ones, and every death you suffer strengthens your resolve through an Ascension system.
Foods & Drinks — A full menu of chorus-fruit dishes: Chorus Bread, Chorus Cookie, Choral Burger, Choral Cupcake, Choral Pancakes, Choral Pie, Choral Shake, Choral Stew, Chorus Noodles, Enderberry Parfait, and Candied Chorus Fruit. The Choral Cake (internally called the Heartfelt Offering) is the centerpiece food item — special enough to serve as beacon payment and to be prized by piglins.
Potions — Heartfelt Potion of Might and its splash variant, both brewed from chorus fruit and glow berries.
Tools & Gear — The Chorus Wand, the Purified Lantern (a block/item that seals nearby End corruption), and the End-Forged Sword, a powerful blade built from netherite, end stone bricks, an eye of ender, and an end rod.
Dragons — Multiple dragon-like creatures (Voidling Dragon, Chorus Serpent, Obsidian Drake, Purpur Wyvern, Ender Moth Dragon, Shulkerback Dragon, Crystal Spine Dragon, Chorus Bloom Dragon, Prismwing Mirage Dragon), each with baby and adult forms. Eggs let you hatch or summon them, and decorative posters commemorate each variety. A Village Dragon Lineage Ledger tracks dragon history tied to villages.
World Events — Spreading End/Nether "bleed" pockets that grow across ordinary biomes over time unless purified, and village-focused dragon activity where villages can be claimed as protected territory or terrorized by a "Village Terror" dragon.
Ascension System — A tracked record of player deaths that grants growing buffs (Health Boost, Strength, Speed, Resistance) the more times you have died and returned.
Combine chorus fruit with common kitchen ingredients to cook up the mod's foods and drinks:
Brew or craft potions and gear:
Dragon eggs, posters, and the Village Dragon Lineage Ledger are found or obtained while exploring rather than crafted at a table — keep an eye out near villages and corrupted biome pockets.
Riding Dragons — Right-click an adult dragon to mount it (it must not already have a rider). While mounted:
Purified Lantern — Right-click while holding one near a corrupted area to seal and stop nearby End/Nether corruption from spreading.
Corruption Pockets — Patches of End- or Nether-like terrain periodically appear in ordinary biomes and slowly expand every few in-game days. They halt if they reach water, existing villages, or are purified with a Purified Lantern. Left unchecked, they can spawn dragons.
Village Dragons — Villages can attract a dedicated dragon over time. Some become protectors that defend the village, while "Village Terror" dragons instead raid it. Defeating a Village Terror records the kill and killer in that village's lineage history, viewable via the Village Dragon Lineage Ledger.
Choral Cake Uses — Beyond eating it, Choral Cake works as beacon payment and is a favorite trade/gift item for piglins.
Start by cooking simple chorus dishes for easy healing food while exploring. As you find corruption pockets, decide whether to purify them with a Purified Lantern or let them grow (risking dragon spawns but also opportunities to find rarer dragon eggs and materials). Forge the End-Forged Sword once you have netherite for tougher fights against dragons and terrors.
Look for wandering adult dragons near expanding pockets or villages to tame by mounting them — riding one turns them into a mobile weapon platform for further exploration or combat. Protect villages you care about by dealing with any Village Terror dragons before they entrench themselves, and check the Village Dragon Lineage Ledger to track your victories.
Finally, don't fear death — every time you fall, Sage Elowen's teachings on Ascension kick in, and your accumulated sacrifices translate into permanent-feeling buffs that make you steadily more powerful the longer (and more often) you play.
