- Summon your Guardian – Hold the locket and right-click (use) it. Your Guardian companion appears just in front of you with a 3-second cooldown between uses.
- Watch the action bar – A HUD line appears showing your Guardian's current health and a reminder that right-clicking again will recall her.
- Recall her – Right-click the locket a second time to dismiss the Guardian. She will reappear the next time you summon.
Overview
Heartblade Guardian is a companion mod built around a single epic item: the Heartblade Locket. Using it summons a named, persistent Guardian — ✦ Guardian Heartblade — who follows you everywhere, fights for you, and is effectively impossible to kill. The locket toggles between summoning and recalling her with each use.
What It Adds
| Content | Description |
|---|
| Heartblade Locket | Epic-rarity hand-held item with an enchantment glint. Summons or recalls your personal Guardian companion. |
| Guardian Companion | A unique, persistent entity that follows and protects its owner across all three dimensions. |
How To Use
Summoning and Recalling
- Right-click the locket to summon the Guardian near you.
- Right-click again to recall her (she is dismissed, not killed).
- The locket has a 3-second cooldown after each use.
- Only one Guardian per player exists at a time — any accidental duplicates are removed automatically.
Action Bar HUD
While your Guardian is active, the action bar displays her current and maximum health in real time, updating every 2 seconds:
✦ Guardian: 480/480 ❤ | [Right-click locket to recall]
Cross-Dimension Tracking
Your Guardian teleports to you when you are far away or travel to another dimension. She will always find her way back to your side.
Crafting And Obtaining
You receive the Heartblade Locket automatically on your first spawn. If you ever need to craft one:
Ingredients: 4 Diamonds, 4 Gold Ingots, and 1 Heart of the Sea arranged in an alternating pattern around the Heart of the Sea.
Repairing the Locket
The locket has 2,000 durability (though it does not take damage in normal use). It can be repaired in an anvil:
- Gold Ingot → restores 500 durability
- Nether Star → fully restores durability
Abilities And Mechanics
Guardian Combat
- Retaliates on your behalf – When you take damage, your Guardian instantly teleports to your attacker and deals 12 damage to them.
- Hunts nearby hostiles – She actively seeks and attacks hostile mobs within range (dealing 8 damage per strike), ignoring passive creatures such as villagers, axolotls, and striders.
- Custom gear – She is permanently equipped with enchanted, unbreakable gold armor, a sword, and a bow.
Guardian Durability
Your Guardian is built to survive anything. She carries a permanent stack of powerful effects:
| Effect | Strength |
|---|
| Regeneration | Level V |
| Resistance | Level V |
| Fire Resistance | Active |
| Absorption | Level X |
| Strength | Level IV |
| Health Boost | Level XX |
These effects combined with her very high base health make her effectively unkillable under normal gameplay conditions.
Buffs to the Owner
When the Guardian retaliates or engages in combat near you, she grants short defensive buffs to you, helping you survive encounters while she handles the threat.
Visuals and Audio
- The Guardian has a distinct custom appearance and displays the name tag ✦ Guardian Heartblade above her head.
- Voice cues (sounds) play when she is summoned or takes key actions.
- The locket item glows with an enchantment glint in your hand and inventory.
Progression And Strategy
- Early game: The locket arrives on first spawn, so you have a powerful ally from the very beginning. Use her to survive early hostile encounters while you gather resources.
- Exploration: She teleports across dimensions, making her a reliable companion for Nether and End runs.
- Recall when safe: Recalling the Guardian when you are in a safe area costs nothing and avoids any unintended collateral from her combat AI.
- Keep the locket on you: The Guardian's HUD, retaliation, and follow behavior all depend on you holding or having the locket active — keep it in your hotbar during dangerous situations.
- Anvil insurance: Though the locket does not consume durability in regular use, keeping a gold ingot or nether star on hand lets you repair it should you ever need to.
