Description:
Place the Griefguard Beacon to create a 32‑block protective field around it that prevents blocks from being altered or destroyed (explosions still damage entities but won’t break blocks inside the field); mobs are not repelled, the beacon announces activation, multiple beacons can overlap, and it drops itself when broken. While any player is within 32 blocks of any active beacon, the global mobGriefing gamerule is automatically turned off (Endermen stop picking up blocks, creeper explosions won’t break blocks anywhere); when no players remain in range, mobGriefing is turned back on. To use it, simply place beacons where you want local explosion-block protection and stand within 32 blocks of any beacon to suppress mob griefing globally (leave the area to restore normal mob behavior).

User request: A beacon that creates a radius area where mob griefing is off. Edit v2: Add Dragon’s breath bottles to the crafting recipe. Edit v3: This isn’t preventing mob griefing. Creepers still destroy blocks when they explode near it. To work as intended, creeper explosions, withers, Endermen, etc can’t be able to break blocks. Edit v4: It shouldn’t be forcing mobs outside of the radius. It should create a space where the player can still fight the mob, but the mob can’t break anything. Edit v5: Make it so when a player is within 32 blocks of the beacon, the mob griefing game rule is turned off, and when the player moves away from the beacon it gets turned back on.
