Quickstart
- Get a Guardian Contract item and use it (right-click / interact) to open the Guardian Hub menu.
- From the menu, pick Summon / recall guardian to bring your loyal Golden Village Guardian to your side.
- Try the free cheap trade for a Golden Emerald Sword, or claim the rare gear gift to get a full armor set.
- Ask your guardian to build a village lodge or dig a mineshaft right where you're standing.
- Get on the guardian's good side and claim a Guardian Blessing for a temporary luck boost.
- Open a Guardian Backpack any time for a quick resupply of useful survival gear.
- Never attack the guardian — it won't fight back directly, but it remembers, and it will make your life difficult.
Overview
Golden Village Guardian adds a friendly, unkillable NPC companion who acts as your protector, trader, gift-giver, and builder. The guardian doesn't fight — it can't even take damage — but it rewards good behavior with gear and blessings, and it punishes hostility with an escalating "wrath" system. Everything is managed through two special items: a Guardian Contract (the main menu) and a Guardian Backpack (a resupply kit).
What It Adds
| Item | Purpose |
|---|
| Guardian Contract | Opens the main Guardian Hub menu |
| Guardian Backpack | Opens a resupply menu for basic survival goods |
| Golden Emerald Sword | A strong, durable sword obtainable as a "cheap trade" |
| Golden Guardian Top / Bottom / Boots | A rare protective armor set gifted by the guardian |
| Golden Village Guardian Spawn Egg | Spawns the guardian directly, like any other mob |
| Golden Village Guardian (entity) | The persistent, unkillable NPC companion itself |
The guardian appears as a humanoid NPC with many possible skin variants, always friendly in appearance, standing ready to look at and interact with nearby players.
How To Use
- Summon the guardian: Use the Guardian Contract and choose "Summon / recall guardian." If one is already nearby, it won't duplicate — you'll just be told it's already present.
- Open the Guardian Hub: Interacting with the Guardian Contract brings up a menu with these options:
- Summon / recall guardian
- Cheap trade: Golden Emerald Sword
- Rare gear gift: guardian armor set
- Build a compact village lodge
- Build a short mineshaft
- Guardian blessing (temporary Luck effect)
- Open the Backpack: Interacting with the Guardian Backpack lets you choose between an "Explorer supplies" bundle (bread, torches, arrows) and a "Builder supplies" bundle (oak planks, cobblestone).
- Building requests: Choosing a build option causes structures to appear near your current location — a small cobblestone-and-plank lodge with a crafting table, or a short fenced-and-lit mineshaft tunnel. Make sure you have open space nearby before requesting a build.
Crafting And Obtaining
There are no crafting recipes for this mod's items — everything is obtained directly through the Guardian Hub menu (via the Guardian Contract) or from the Guardian Backpack menu, and the guardian itself can be summoned via its spawn egg or through the Contract's summon option.
Abilities And Mechanics
- Unkillable protector: The Golden Village Guardian cannot be damaged or killed by anything — it is fireproof and completely resistant to harm.
- Wrath system: If you attack the guardian, it won't strike back, but it keeps count of your strikes:
- Each attack marks you as hostile to the guardian for 34 minutes.
- After 4 total strikes, you become permanently marked as hostile — there's no timer reset after that point, so think twice before swinging at your protector.
- Rewards for good behavior: The Hub offers free gear (a sword and a full rare armor set) and a temporary Luck blessing as goodwill gifts, with no cost required.
- Persistent companion: Once summoned, the guardian sticks around, watches nearby players, and can be recalled later using the same Contract menu.
Progression And Strategy
- Start by summoning your guardian and claiming the free sword and armor gift right away — there's no cost or grind involved.
- Use the village lodge and mineshaft building options to quickly establish a small base or a starting tunnel when you spawn in a new area.
- Keep the Guardian Backpack on hand as a renewable source of basic supplies during exploration or building.
- Avoid combat with the guardian entirely; the wrath system offers no benefit for attacking it, only escalating inconvenience, culminating in a permanent hostile status after repeated strikes.
- Treat the guardian as a generous ally: the best strategy is simply to keep it summoned nearby and periodically check the Hub menu for its blessing and gifts.
