Golden Bond Chain

Quickstart

1. Craft the Golden Bond Chain at a crafting table using the recipe below, or grab it from the Equipment tab in the creative inventory.
2. Hold the item and aim at any mob or player within 6 blocks, then right-click (use item). You'll see a message confirming the first end of the tether.
3. Aim at a second mob or player and right-click again. The two entities are now linked — if they drift more than 10 blocks apart, both are pulled back toward each other automatically.
4. To remove a tether, select the same two entities again in the same order (first click one, then the other). The tether will be released.

Overview

The Golden Bond Chain is an uncommon handheld tool for Minecraft Bedrock (version 1.21.93). It looks like a chain with golden tips on both ends and lets you tether any two entities together. Once linked, the pair is physically unable to stay more than 10 blocks apart — both are pulled toward each other every time the distance is exceeded.

How To Use

Creating a Tether (Two-Click Process)

1. Hold the Golden Bond Chain.
2. Aim at a mob or player within roughly 6 blocks and right-click. A message confirms the first entity is selected.
3. Aim at a different mob or player and right-click again. A success message confirms the tether is active.

If you right-click at nothing (no entity in your crosshair), any pending first selection is cancelled.

Removing a Tether

Repeat the same two-click process on the already-linked pair. A message will confirm the tether has been removed.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Tether range: 10 blocks. When the linked entities exceed this distance, both are pulled toward each other every ~0.1 seconds until they are within range again.
• Pull strength: The pull is applied horizontally and slightly vertically to bring the two entities together smoothly.
• Works on any entity: Mobs, players, and other entities can all be tethered.
• Cross-dimension safety: Entities in different dimensions are not pulled (the tether becomes inactive until they share a dimension again).
• Tether is removed automatically if either entity ceases to exist (e.g., a mob dies).
• One tether per pair: Two entities can only have one active link between them at a time.

Crafting And Obtaining

Craft the Golden Bond Chain at a crafting table using:

• 2× Gold Ingot
• 1× Chain

The item can also be repaired in an anvil using Gold Ingots or Chains, each restoring 50 durability. It can be enchanted like a sword.

Progression And Strategy

• Mob control: Tether a hostile mob to a fence post area or to another mob to limit their roaming range.
• Co-op play: Tether two players together as a fun challenge — neither can wander too far from their partner.
• Keep pets close: Link a mob to yourself (you are a valid entity target) to keep companions nearby without needing a lead.
• Durability management: Each activation costs 1 durability. Carry spare Gold Ingots or Chains for on-the-go repairs at an anvil.
