Mod Wiki

Glider

Quickstart

  • Find a Glider in the End, where it roams near chorus plants and flowers. Wild Gliders are hostile to nearby players, so approach carefully.
  • Hold a chorus fruit and use it on a Glider to try to tame it. Each fruit has a 30% chance to succeed; keep trying if it stays wild.
  • For a quick encounter, find Glider Spawn Egg in the Creative inventory, or use /summon com_glider_pglth7sp:mycustom.
  • Once tamed, the Glider follows you and attacks nearby monsters. It flies on its own; you cannot ride or steer it.

Overview

Gliders are flying End mobs that hover among chorus trees, sometimes perching near chorus plants and flowers. Wild ones attack players they can see nearby. Tamed Gliders become watchful companions that follow their owner and fight monsters.

What It Adds

  • The Glider, a flying mob with 24 health.
  • A Glider spawn egg for Creative play.
  • Chorus-fruit taming and companion behavior.

How To Use

Feed a wild Glider chorus fruit by using the fruit on it. Taming is not guaranteed per feed, so try again if needed. A tamed Glider follows its owner and can attack monsters within range, including monsters that attack its owner.

Gliders fly and hover autonomously. Wild ones may settle near chorus plants or flowers, then take off again. They have no fall damage.

Crafting And Obtaining

Gliders spawn naturally in the End, in groups of one or two, on the surface between Y=45 and Y=128. They can spawn at any light level. You can also find their spawn egg in the Creative inventory or summon one with:

/summon com_glider_pglth7sp:mycustom

There are no crafting recipes for the Glider or its spawn egg.

Gliders drop 1–2 feathers and may drop a chorus fruit when defeated. A very rare End Gateway reward is also possible.

Abilities And Mechanics

  • Wild attack: A wild Glider targets players it can see within 7 blocks and attacks with a beak dive.
  • Flock alarm: When a player kills a Glider, nearby wild Gliders that can see the player may call an alarm and become aggressive toward them.
  • Companion defense: Tamed Gliders follow their owner and target nearby monsters, including monsters the owner attacks or that attack the owner.
  • Perching: Wild Gliders may perch near chorus plants or flowers before taking off again. They do not perch while tamed.
