Gelatinous Wilds

Quickstart

1. Install both the Behavior Pack and Resource Pack, then enable them on a new or existing world.
2. Generate or load the world — the Gelatinous Wilds biome appears naturally in the overworld.
3. To jump straight there, open chat and run: /locate biome com_gelatinous_wilds_vzmih6k3:gelatinous_wilds
4. Teleport to the coordinates returned and start exploring the towering slime trees, glowing crystal formations, and gel lakes.

Overview

The Gelatinous Wilds replaces portions of your overworld with a sprawling, slime-dominated biome unlike anything in vanilla Minecraft. Lime, teal, and cyan hues glow across wobbling hills, translucent gel lakes, bubble mounds, and Colossal Slime Trees that can tower hundreds of blocks into the sky. There are no villages, dungeons, or ruins — only a vast, surreal wilderness to explore, gather, and build in.

How To Use

Exploring the Biome

Use /locate biome com_gelatinous_wilds_vzmih6k3:gelatinous_wilds to find the nearest Gelatinous Wilds area. The biome generates naturally, so it will also appear during normal world exploration — look for the distinctive teal-green glow on the horizon.

Harvesting Materials

All blocks drop as themselves when broken with the correct tool:

• Shovel — Slime Grass, Sticky Dirt, Gel Sand
• Pickaxe — Goo Stone, Crystal Slime
• Axe — Gel Wood
• Any tool / hand — Transparent Gel, Slime Leaves, Bubble Flower, Bounce Grass (all break very quickly)

Building with Gelatinous Materials

Every block in the biome is available in your creative inventory under the Nature category and can be gathered in survival for building. Crystal Slime makes an excellent light source with its built-in glow. Transparent Gel creates striking translucent walls and floors. Gel Wood and Slime Leaves allow you to craft organic-looking structures that match the biome's aesthetic.

Abilities And Mechanics

• Crystal Slime emits a light level of 8, making it useful for ambient lighting in builds without torches.
• Transparent Gel has an extremely high friction value, making surfaces covered in it very slippery to walk across — approach gel lakes and gel-covered floors with caution.
• Slime Leaves and Transparent Gel both use special rendering that lets you see through them, preserving the biome's translucent, otherworldly feel.
• Bounce Grass and Bubble Flower have no collision box, so players and mobs walk straight through them without obstruction.

Progression And Strategy

• Early game: Prioritize gathering Sticky Dirt and Slime Grass with a shovel — these are the most abundant surface blocks and easy to collect quickly.
• Mid game: Mine Goo Stone with a pickaxe for a durable building material, and seek out Crystal Slime towers for a renewable glow-block light source.
• Exploration: Climb the Colossal Slime Trees by harvesting Gel Wood (axe) to reach the upper canopy; the height provides excellent visibility across the biome for scouting new features.
• Building: Combine Transparent Gel walls with Crystal Slime floors to build glowing, translucent structures that feel native to the biome.
• Caution: The slippery surface of Transparent Gel lakes can send you sliding unexpectedly — build ledges or use blocks around gel water edges to stay safe.
