Description
/garden start
/garden status to check the current wave, remaining invaders, and plant hits. The Garden Almanac can also be crafted:

Use the Almanac again to start another match after the current defense ends. Only one match can be active in a world at a time.
Garden Defense turns an area around you into a three-wave zombie defense. Plants automatically attack nearby wave zombies, Sunflowers generate Sun Tokens, and Potato Mines provide one-use bursts of damage.
A match is centered on the block where it was started. The garden covers an area roughly 18 blocks in every horizontal direction from that point. If a wave zombie gets within 3 blocks of the center, the defense immediately fails.
| Plant | Role |
|---|---|
| Peashooter | Deals 2 damage to the nearest nearby wave zombie. |
| Sunflower | Produces 1 Sun Token every 10 seconds during an active match. |
| Wall-Nut | A placeable, non-colliding defensive plant with no direct attack effect. |
| Snow Pea | Deals 2.5 damage and applies Slowness II to its target. |
| Armored Wall-Nut | A sturdier-looking Wall-Nut variant with no direct attack effect. |
| Repeater | Deals 4 damage to the nearest nearby wave zombie. |
| Potato Mine | Deals 10 damage to a nearby zombie, then disappears. |
All plants are placeable blocks. They do not have collision, so Wall-Nuts and Armored Wall-Nuts do not physically block zombies. Use them as garden markers or visual defenses while relying on attacking plants and mines for combat.
The Garden Almanac is a reusable match trigger. Use it anywhere to begin a defense at your current position.
Sun Tokens are generated by Sunflowers and awarded for victory. A successful defense awards 12 additional Sun Tokens. The current garden defense has no spending interface or shop for them, so they function as a collectible match resource.
Use either method:
/garden start. The match starts at your current position, gives you the starter kit, and begins spawning Wave 1.
Starting another match while one is already active in the same world has no effect.
Place plants on the same horizontal level as the match’s starting block. The defense checks plants across a roughly 37-by-37-block square centered on that point.
Attacking plants activate automatically every half-second. Each one targets the nearest wave zombie within 12 blocks of itself. Multiple plants can attack the same zombie, so overlapping their ranges creates concentrated fire.
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
/garden start | Starts a match and gives the starter kit. |
/garden kit | Gives the plant and Sun Token starter kit. |
/garden status | Displays the current wave, invader count, and plant hits. |
/garden stop | Stops the active match and removes its wave zombies without awarding a victory reward. |
The plant blocks and special items can be obtained from the starter kit, Creative inventory, or commands such as:

The Armored Wall-Nut is crafted from a Wall-Nut:

A Garden Almanac is crafted from a Peashooter:

A Peashooter can also be used to craft green dye:

A Sunflower can be used to craft a Sun Token:
A match has three waves:
| Wave | Zombies | Spawn interval |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | About 3 seconds |
| 2 | 6 | About 2.5 seconds |
| 3 | 8 | About 2 seconds |
Zombies enter from random positions roughly 14 blocks from the garden center. The next wave begins after the current wave has been fully spawned and defeated, with a short preparation interval.
You win when all eight zombies in Wave 3 are defeated. Victory grants 12 Sun Tokens and removes the remaining match entities.
You lose as soon as a wave zombie reaches the 3-block danger zone around the match center. Place high-damage plants near the center and use Potato Mines to prevent stragglers from reaching it.
/garden status during the defense to track how many invaders remain and how much damage your plants have dealt.
