Fumeclaw

Quickstart

• In Creative, find the Fumeclaw Spawn Egg and use it underwater to spawn one. With commands, use /summon com_fumeclaw_aciryuvh:mycustom.
• For a natural encounter, search underwater in a deep ocean between Y=0 and Y=48, near stone, gravel, sand, or clay seafloor.
• Keep your distance and watch its claws and geyser crown: Fumeclaw attacks nearby players and other mobs on its own. There are no special player controls or crafted items to use.

Overview

Fumeclaw is a large, hostile deep-sea mob. It has 80 health, breathes underwater, and can attack targets it can see. It may appear alone or in pairs.

What It Adds

• A towering, chittering sea creature with a 2.7-block-wide, 6-block-tall collision area.
• Bubble-blasting claw attacks and a geyser burst.
• Fish-hunting behavior and drops for players who defeat it.

How To Use

Fumeclaw acts autonomously; it cannot be equipped or directed. It targets players and non-fish mobs within 24 blocks, and fish at shorter range. If no hostile target is nearby, it may draw in a nearby fish and eat it.

Crafting And Obtaining

There are no recipes for Fumeclaw or its spawn egg. Find it in deep-ocean waters, use its spawn egg in Creative, or summon it with:

/summon com_fumeclaw_aciryuvh:mycustom

Abilities And Mechanics

• Claw attack: Sends bubbles from both claws, dealing 6 damage, applying Poison for 3 seconds and Slowness for 1.5 seconds, and knocking the target back.
• Geyser burst: Against non-player targets, Fumeclaw can unleash a visible-area blast within 6.5 blocks. It deals 8 damage to its target and 4 to other caught targets, and applies Weakness for 3 seconds. Players can also be caught in the blast.
• Feeding: When it has no hostile target, Fumeclaw may pull in and eat a nearby fish. Eating restores health with Regeneration II for 5 seconds.

Progression And Strategy

Fight from a clear line of sight and avoid staying close: the claws can reach targets at range, while the geyser burst can affect several nearby creatures. Fumeclaw has 80 health, so prepare for a sustained fight.

Defeating one drops cooked cod or cooked salmon. If a player kills it, it also drops 1–3 prismarine shards and has a small chance to drop a nautilus shell.
