Quickstart

1. Gather Packed Ice and Iron Bars from your world or crafting.
2. Craft the Frostbite Pipe at a Crafting Table:

1. Equip it in your main hand and hit any mob or player.
2. Watch for the Freezing effect — your target will slow, take chip damage over time, and drain hunger faster.

Overview

The Frostbite Pipe is a rare, enchant-glowing melee weapon forged from packed ice and iron. Beyond dealing solid base damage, it can inflict Slowness or a custom Freezing effect on hit, making it a powerful tool for controlling and wearing down enemies.

Abilities And Mechanics

On-Hit Effects

Each successful hit has a chance to apply one of two debuffs to the target:

• Slowness – reduces the target's movement speed for a short duration.
• Freezing – a custom status effect unique to this weapon.

Freezing Effect

Freezing is the Frostbite Pipe's signature mechanic. While active it causes:

• Chip damage – the target loses a small amount of health every ~1.5 seconds (every 30 ticks).
• Increased hunger depletion – affected players drain food faster while frozen.
• Slowed attack speed on the wielder – landing a hit that triggers Freezing temporarily imposes a significant attack cooldown (~3 seconds) on you, so time your swings carefully.

The Freezing effect expires naturally after its duration. Re-hitting a target refreshes it.

Craft the Frostbite Pipe at a Crafting Table using Packed Ice and Iron Bars (see Quickstart above). It appears in the Equipment tab of your inventory.

Progression And Strategy

• Control over burst – The Freezing chip damage is steady but small. Use the Frostbite Pipe to slow enemies and let the freeze do work while you stay safe, especially effective against fast mobs.
• Manage your own cooldown – Triggering Freezing slows your next attack. Don't spam swings; wait out the cooldown for full damage on the follow-up.
• Enchanting – The pipe uses the sword enchant slot and has reasonable enchantability, so Sharpness, Looting, and Knockback all apply. Knockback pairs especially well — knock a frozen, slowed enemy away and let chip damage finish the job.
• Hunger pressure in PvP – Against players, Freezing rapidly drains their food bar, limiting their natural regeneration and forcing them onto the back foot.
