Quickstart
- Craft Ice Crystals from packed ice and amethyst shards: .
- Turn a crystal into four Ice Balls: . Hold one and right-click to throw it at a target.
- Find Frostbites in snowy or igloo-related areas, or use a Frostbite Spawn Egg on the ground to spawn one. Frostbites drop Ice Crystals when defeated.
- Try the freezing potions and arrows below for ranged ways to slow targets.
Overview
Frostbite Hollow adds a cold-themed set of blocks, throwable freezing items, arrows, and a hostile mob called Frostbite. Gather Ice Crystals to make freezing weapons and icy building materials.

How To Use
- Throw an Ice Ball or freezing potion: Hold it and right-click. Ice Balls freeze the target they hit. A Potion of Freezing affects its direct target; the splash version affects nearby living targets, while the lingering version leaves a freezing area.
- Fire freezing arrows: Put Arrows of Freezing in your ammunition and fire them with a bow as you would regular arrows.
- Place icy blocks: Place Ice Crystals, Icicles, Brittle Ice, and the packed-ice building blocks like other blocks.
- Spawn a Frostbite: Use the Frostbite Spawn Egg on the ground. Frostbites also appear naturally in snowy and igloo-related areas.
Crafting And Obtaining
Frostbites drop 1–2 Ice Crystals when defeated and have a chance to drop an Ice Ball. Mine Ice Crystals with a pickaxe to collect the block.

Abilities And Mechanics
- Frostbite: Its melee attacks freeze the target. Frostbites have more health than an ordinary zombie.
- Ice Ball: Freezes a living target on a direct hit.
- Potion of Freezing: Freezes the target it hits. The splash potion freezes nearby living targets; the lingering potion affects an area over time.
- Arrow of Freezing: Freezes a living target on impact.
- Brittle Ice: Cracks under sustained weight and eventually breaks away. Avoid standing on it for long.
Progression And Strategy
Start with Ice Crystals, then make Ice Balls for a simple ranged attack. For groups, use a Splash Potion of Freezing; use a Lingering Potion to affect an area over time. A bow with Arrows of Freezing lets you freeze targets from a distance. Keep space from Frostbites, since their melee hits can freeze you.
