Mod Wiki

Fortcraft

Quickstart

  1. Craft a Machete or Grenade for offense, or an arrow-firing rifle for ranged combat.
  2. Craft a set of Military Armor or Ragged Armor to protect yourself.
  3. Find a Recruit Villager in a village and right-click it to recruit it as your personal soldier.
  4. Type "attack" in chat to send all your recruited villagers into combat.
  5. Equip a full set of Military Armor to blend into your surroundings with built-in invisibility.

Overview

Fortcraft turns your world into a small-scale combat sandbox. It adds military-themed weapons (a grenade, a machete, and a scoped rapid-fire rifle), two sets of armor with very different durability and protection tradeoffs, and a recruitable villager companion that can be commanded to fight on your behalf.

What It Adds

Weapons

  • Grenade – A throwable explosive.
  • Machete – A fast, repeatable melee weapon.
  • Scoped Rifle ("A Scoped Ak 47 That Rapid Fires Arrows...") – A rapid-fire ranged weapon that launches high-damage arrows.

Armor Sets

  • Military Armor (Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots) – Heavy-duty camouflage-colored armor with high protection and durability.
  • Ragged Armor (Hood, Tunic, Leggings, Boots) – Lightweight, low-durability leather armor for early-game protection.

Mob

  • Recruit Villager – A special villager found in villages that can be recruited to follow and fight for you.

How To Use

Grenade

Right-click (use item) while holding the grenade to hurl it forward. It launches a live TNT block in the direction you're looking, which explodes on landing or after its fuse runs out. Each throw consumes one grenade from your stack.

Machete

Right-click and hold to channel the machete. While holding, it repeatedly strikes whatever is directly in front of you (about 3 times per second), dealing 10 damage per hit to non-player targets. Release to stop attacking.

Scoped Rifle

Right-click (use item) to fire a fast-moving arrow that deals heavy damage (42) to anything it strikes. There's no reload delay built in — fire as fast as you can use the item.

Recruit Villager

  • Right-click an un-recruited Recruit Villager to make it your personal follower. It will begin following you around.
  • Right-click your recruit again while holding an item to supply it (this consumes one of the held item from your hand and increases its "supplies" count).
  • Type attack in chat to order every recruit you own within range (about 48 blocks) into aggressive combat mode. They will attack everything nearby except you, their commander.
  • Only the player who first recruits a villager can supply or command it — other players cannot take control of an already-recruited villager.

Armor

Equip any armor piece in its matching armor slot (head, chest, legs, feet) like normal Minecraft armor.

  • Wearing a complete set of Military Armor (all four pieces) grants continuous invisibility while worn, letting you blend into the environment.
  • Ragged Armor pieces offer minimal protection and very low durability, useful only as a stopgap in early survival.

Recruit Villager

Recruit Villagers are not crafted. They naturally spawn in villages, or can be obtained from their spawn egg in Creative mode if you want to place one manually.

Abilities And Mechanics

ItemEffect
GrenadeLaunches live TNT in the direction you're facing
Machete10 damage per hit, up to 3 hits/second while channeling
Scoped RifleFires arrows dealing 42 damage
Military Armor (full set)20+ armor per piece, 1000 durability per piece, grants invisibility when the whole set is worn
Ragged Armor2 armor per piece, only 12 durability — wears out quickly
Recruit VillagerFollows its recruiter, can be supplied with items, obeys the "attack" chat command against everyone except its owner

Progression And Strategy

Start with Ragged Armor and a machete or grenade while you gather resources — it's cheap to make from leather and string. As you accumulate iron and green dye, upgrade into a full Military Armor set for durable protection and the passive invisibility bonus, which is especially useful for scouting or ambushing. Recruit villagers early from nearby villages so they gain "supplies" over time, then use the "attack" chat command to have your growing squad help fight off threats or other players. Combine the scoped rifle for ranged damage with the machete for close-quarters finishing blows, and use grenades to soften up groups of enemies before your recruits close in.
