Quickstart
- Craft the Flame Shovel by smelting an Iron Shovel in a furnace:
- Place the Flame Shovel in your hand.
- Right-click in any direction to launch a small fireball where you're looking.
- Listen for the fire sound — that's your confirmation a fireball is on its way!
Overview
The Flame Shovel is a ranged fire weapon disguised as a humble shovel. Instead of digging, it launches small fireballs on demand, letting you set enemies, mobs, or terrain ablaze from a distance. It's found in the Tools & Utilities creative tab.

How To Use
- Right-click while holding the Flame Shovel to shoot a small fireball in your exact look direction.
- Each shot plays a fire sound so you always know the shot registered.
- A 1-second cooldown (20 ticks) is applied after each shot — you cannot spam fireballs.
- The fireball launches slightly ahead of and at eye level with your character, aimed precisely where your crosshair points.

- Small Fireballs behave like those fired by Ghasts — they travel in a straight line, ignite targets and terrain on impact, and can be deflected by hitting them.
- The shovel counts as a shovel-type tool for tag purposes, but its primary use is ranged fire combat.
- When all 256 durability is spent, the Flame Shovel breaks and is destroyed, so track your shots carefully.
Progression And Strategy
- Smelt an Iron Shovel to obtain your Flame Shovel early — all you need is a furnace and an iron shovel.
- With only 256 shots per shovel, avoid wasting shots on trivial targets; each fireball costs one durability.
- Use the 1-second cooldown window to reposition between shots.
- Fireballs can be deflected by players and mobs, so be cautious when firing at close range or in enclosed spaces — the fire can come back at you.
- Craft multiple Flame Shovels and keep spares in your inventory for extended engagements.
