Mod Wiki
Fallout Horde Bunker
Quickstart
- Load into your world — a bunker survival loadout is automatically deployed to you at the start, giving you an iron sword, iron pickaxe, iron axe, shield, cooked beef, bread, golden apples, and torches.
- Watch the action bar at the top of your screen: it tracks the current Fallout Day, the size of the next Horde, and the current Mutation multiplier.
- Survive until nightfall — hordes of Radiation Zombies spawn in waves around you and close in fast.
- Craft or find hazmat-style Bunker armor to reduce the damage and poison you take from radioactive zombies.
- Keep killing zombies for loot, and keep surviving — every in-game day, the hordes get bigger and the zombies get stronger.
Overview
Fallout Horde Bunker turns your world into a radioactive survival gauntlet. Instead of ordinary zombies, you're hunted by mutated Radiation Zombies that spawn in growing hordes and emit poisonous radiation as they approach. Every day that passes in-game, the threat escalates — more zombies spawn per horde, and each one hits harder and radiates more powerfully. To keep up, players are equipped with a starting survival loadout and can gear up with protective Bunker Hazmat armor.
What It Adds
- Radiation Zombie — a tough, fast, radioactive undead mob that hunts players from long range and poisons anyone who gets close.
- Horde spawning system — periodic waves of Radiation Zombies spawn around each player, scaling in size and strength as days pass.
- Day-based mutation scaling — an in-game day/night cycle tracker that increases horde size and zombie power every day that passes.
- Bunker Hazmat Armor set — a full protective armor set (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots) to shield players from horde attacks and radiation.
- Starting Survival Loadout — weapons, tools, and rations automatically given to players so they can start defending themselves immediately.
- On-screen survival tracker — an action bar readout showing the current day, upcoming horde size, and mutation multiplier.
How To Use
- Loadout: Your bunker gear (iron sword, pickaxe, axe, shield, food, and torches) is deployed automatically — no setup needed.
- Survive hordes: At regular intervals, a horde of Radiation Zombies spawns near you, growing in count as days pass. Use terrain, torches, and your weapons to fight or funnel them.
- Watch the action bar: It always shows the current day, the horde size for the next wave, and the mutation multiplier applied to zombie strength and radiation damage.
- Avoid radiation: Radiation Zombies passively poison and damage nearby players just by being close (within about 2 blocks), even without attacking. Keep your distance or fight from behind cover, and watch for smoke particles marking radioactive mobs.
- Track day transitions: A message announces each new Fallout Day, warning that mutation and horde growth have escalated.
- Equip armor: Wear the Bunker Hazmat set to reduce damage taken from zombie attacks and radiation exposure.
Crafting And Obtaining
The Bunker Hazmat Armor set (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots) and the starting survival loadout are provided directly to players rather than crafted through a recipe. There are no crafting recipes for these items — obtain them by playing through the mod's automatic setup and progression systems, or from your creative inventory if playing in Creative Mode.
Radiation Zombies also drop loot when killed:
- Rotten flesh (common drop)
- A small chance (increased by looting enchantments) to drop iron ingots, carrots, or potatoes
Abilities And Mechanics
Radiation Zombie
- High health (40 HP) and strong melee damage (5 per hit).
- Aggressively hunts players from up to 40 blocks away and can open doors and climb.
- Passively radiates: any player within about 2.4 blocks takes poison damage and direct damage, scaling with the zombie's current "power" level.
- Naturally spawns in monster-eligible biomes, especially in dark areas, and tends to appear in small packs of 3–7.
- Horde-spawned zombies get a speed boost that increases with the current mutation level.
Horde And Mutation Scaling
- Every in-game day that passes increases both the number of zombies in each horde wave and their "power" (which boosts damage, poison strength, and speed).
- Hordes spawn at fixed intervals throughout the day, appearing 18–28 blocks away from each player and closing in.
- The action bar always reflects the current day number, upcoming horde size, and the mutation multiplier so you can gauge how dangerous the next wave will be.
Progression And Strategy
- Early days: Hordes are small and zombies are weak — a good time to explore, gather resources, and start building defenses.
- Later days: Horde size and zombie power scale up continuously, so damage output and poison effects intensify — invest in the Bunker Hazmat armor set and keep stockpiling food and healing items.
- Long-term survival: Since mutation never resets, plan defensible bunker-style bases, use chokepoints against hordes, and prioritize armor upgrades and enchantments to offset the escalating radiation and attack damage.
